Excuse me my bad english

I buy a hard disk SATA seagate ST3250820S and I want to put in my motherboard ASUS P4S800D-X
I customize a Windows Xp Professional SP2 with nLite 1.3 RC2.

I have problem with this and I hope my experience usefull for other persons.

When instaling a push F6 to read the SATA driver from a disquette, continue the instalation (select partition, format...) but when go to write files a the hard disk say no find the files of the SATA (SiSRaid.sys, SiSRaid.inf, sisraid.cat and Property.dll). I push escape for jump the copy of the files and continue (other options are abort instalation and retry).

When reboot, show a blue screen. It is evident that no there are the files of drivers in the hard disk.

After severals intent of resolve the problem I find one solution. I start the computer with System Rescue CD and put the drivers of SATA in 3 directory: c:\WinXp (my Windows directory), c:\WinXp\system32 and c:\WinXp\system32\drivers. Reset the computer and them the instalation continue ok

Meybe there are other solution more elegant for the problem, but I am unknow it.

Thank you

Don't know if this helps but my ASUS board had two different SATA controllers on it. One VIA and one PROMISE. I made the mistake once of trying to use the Promise drivers for the VIA. The PROMISE Sata chipset never did work correctly, I disabled it in the bios and stuck with the VIA drivers.
