Not very complete specs:

Intel Pentium III 500 MHZ
Don't know Motherboard
192MB (128+64) (don't know whats missing)
40 Gb 5200rpm Seagate blabla (don't know)
20 Gb 7600rpm Maxtor blabla (don't know)(system drive)
IMPORTANT (I think): Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live! 1024

Sorry I don't know many things but I think they are not important (I think)

What I changed

I just removed the sound card to insert it on another computer.

The error

After I removed the sound card my PC didn't load the Bios (the screen didn't turn on but I could turn on the power). I tried inserting the sound card again but it didn't work. I tried another sound card and it didn't work. I dismantled my pc and put it together again and it didn't work. I used another screen just to make sure the screen was not the problem and it was not. Can somebody tell me what hapened? I think that my motherboard is the problem (died, something burned,etc...). I will see if i can get the model of it.

Sorry for bad English

Did you leave the power cord plugged in?
Where you properly grounded?
When you turn on the power do any of your fans start up?
Also is there any beeps or noises when you push the power button?
Are there any loose cords?

Power cord (what I think it is) is plugged in
I'm not grounded in any PC and never had problems with it
All my fans start up
No beeps or noises
No loose cords

Is it onboard video or a video card?

it is a sound card
not onboard

I asked about the VIDEO card. If everthing seems to boot ok but you are not getting any video response you may have unseated your video card or tweaked one of the pins when you replugged your monitor's video cable in...

It is not that too. I tried two video cards and two monitors.

ok then the last thing to check is to put your ear by the hard drive or your finger on top of it and see if it even spins up when you power on...

I will check that but the BIOS would load without hard drive. And I have two. But just to make sure I will do that and insert another.

The hard drive will not spin up if the mobo is toast though...

The hard drive is spinning.
Just one more thing. When I turn the computer on the floppy drive light turns on and it does not turn off.
_sergio_
I have already tried 3 floppy drives, 3 power supplies and 4 RAM chips and it is all the same.
I don't know what it is. I will upload a picture of the motherboard as soon as I can. Meanwhile, help me with this.

No beeps or noises

tongue.gif I'd say mobo is dead. Somehow when unplugging the sound card either discharged or forgot the mains cord connected...

EDIT:
As a last resort, try and clear the BIOS.

Already cleared (just remove the battery right?).

remove the battery for at least an hour

i think you're confusing something else with BIOS, you don't need to have a hard drive to get into BIOS..all you need is power, video and a keyboard.

the board might be dead, or its just having an issue without the soundcard.

is there a place to connect the monitor on the motherboard itself, or do you need to use a graphics card?

Yes it was this I said.

There is no Onboard video. I use graphic card and already used two. Both work on another computer and the monitor works too. I inserted the soundcard again and after that another soundcard I have and it is still the same. I removed the battery but only for ten minutes. I will remove it and go to sleep and tomorow I will insert again.

Removed the battery for more than an hour. I guess is dead.

Unfortunately, it is if you can't get a POST even after having the battery out for one hour sad.gif

It probably isn't because of the sound card. Sound cards causing a POST failure is unlikely.

If the motherboard itself fails to boot after putting in a sound card, then it probably got damaged, because you weren't careful enough when putting in the sound card. It's probably because you touched something on the motherboard or processor.

Whooops blushing.gif
I wasn't careful when removing it. I was in a hurry. I didn't thought that it would do that to my mobo blushing.gif .
Well... there is nothing I can do now.
amocanu
have you checked your processor?
nfm
When I damaged Athlon 64 and Opteron 146 (from taking off IHS and putting Big Typhoon cooler on naked core), my PC would boot into blank screen. From my experience, if you clear CMOS and PC still boots into black screen, it's your CPU. Other than that, you should be familiar with testing other components.
