Idea was proposed here by Dexx.

Maybe you could post them here as an attachment. Really, though, I think there should be a sticky for these, or perhaps maybe even an example INI or two could be included with nLite for future releases.

And please post a brief description including:
  • version of nLite used
  • size of finished CD or ISO image
  • general notes
Here's mine:
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

This INI will get rid of most of Microsoft's wonderfully included extras: NetMeeting, Media Center, Movie Maker. I also add alot of addons from RyanVM. It's not the 'litest', but it works just fine.

I also removed (not disabled) a few services. Hasn't caused me any probs so far.

For nLite v1.3 (I'll post a newer one later next week when the Update Packs come out.)

Resultant CD should be around 400mb. newwink.gif

been working on this one for a few days now; Im pretty happy with it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I maintain a source with service pack 2 and hotfixes installed,
then add microsoft ie7 and mp11 and then rar a backup copy
for later use.

then I add program addons, drivers, themes, wallpapers,
bookmarks, reg entries, updates, hacks etc...... and rip
everything I dont need.

that way if I screw up im not starting from zero.
just un rar a new copy and edit last_session.ini
and try agin

this .iso was about 480mb and I used nlite 1.3.5

I got a new one where I got the cd down to 320mb. I had to remove a lot of drivers to do it, but I realized that there are alot of drivers included with XP that I don't need anyways.

In fact, removing the graphic drivers makes installing the newer ones MUCH less painful. biggrin.gif

I need to test it a little to make sure everything's ok, then I'll post. newwink.gif

Hey your install looks very interesting, could you upload those extra files you use?
untermensch
^^^I have intergrated about 200MB of themes, program addons, and drivers. I cant upload all of it.^^^
if you look around this site, you can find links to just about everything I have intergrated.

I got a new one, this one has almost all drivers removed, but retains firewire camcorder support

the ISO came out to be 476MB with 200MB of addons and drivers.
nlite 1.4 beta was used for the build. Im now using the $OEM$ mecinism
to install wallpapers, and favorites instead of RUNONCE
