Heyho, is patent actication included in Nero 8 Lite/Micro? As it's not an elemental part of Nero 8 and uses up some disk space too.

Same for me too.. Would it be possible that you fix that because it's imho one of the big advantages of Nero compared to the free alternatives that you can quickly create a cover for your audio CD. I would really enjoy to see this feature in the near future.

Is there a way in Nero to hide the "Browsers" toolbar and the browser tabs, so that the interface looks like as back in version 6 or so (compilation on the left and file browser on the right)? Because these two bars only waste space in my opinion without adding value. Would be great if somebody has an answer.

Go to File -> Options -> File Browser.
There's the "Show toolbars" option, untick it.

I have already discovered that option, but there are still two "bars" left above the file explorer and I would like to get rid of those.

Nero's 8 DVD decoder is very buggy. I was trying to watch a movie, and there was a black box in the middle of the screen. I had to unregister NeVideo.ax and use MPC's internal DVD filter.

Do the neros (micro/lite) have all languages (so i can choose dutch?)

"Bitmap resource optimisations" reffers to the bitmaps inside dll or exe files (symbols, icons) that are optimised in size, to reduce the overall size of the package.

And yes, all relevant languages are included in one of the packages. To be able to choose dutch you'll -obviously- have to download the european version. You may then deseledt the other languages if not needed.

And unless you don't have a BD or HD-DVD writer, there is no big diff. between 7 and 8, so chose whatever you like.
Personally i like the Nero 7 icons more than Nero 8's. But what are icons good for when making CDs? ^^

EDIT: As you can choose your setup/default installation language at the beginning of the setup, i suggest to have the other languages deselected by default. Not many users have a multilanguage software environment.

zeroFX, what do you mean? Normally everything is selected. Only people with enough knowledge do understand what each option is about anyway.

I think there is a little difference in the purpose of Nero Lite/Micro (to save space) and the setup settings leading to the installation of all languages of the package and so using up space.
I know it's not that much space. But as there are bitmap resource optimisations, it seems a little odd. But that's just my opinion.

Acheron or anyone...this might sound as stupid question but, what's the difference between Lite and Micro version? I have not find any info on this matter so I was tempted to ask?

I would like to know the current state of Labelflash / Lighscribe support in Nero 8 Lite. Does everything work or is it broken?

Extra languages will be deselected by default. Even when you select a full installation extra languages won't be selected. Use commandline switches if you need to install multiple languages unattendedly.

About CoverDesigner not accesible from Nero Express. I'm not sure if this function still exists in Nero 8. I will test the full installer for this. EDIT: also fixed for next release!

UPDATE: Nero 8.1.1.3 Lite ready to download from my site!

Well, my site is turned down now due to heavy traffic. This was my last attempt getting to host Nero Lite binary files. It is also beyond the scope of creating unattended cds having to deal with hosting these files anyway. Next step will be to polish up the Nero Lite SDK to allow people to build their own copies of Nero Lite. That's all I can do for you.

Why don't you host it somewhere else, like some Rapidshare account ou something like that?

Lusitano's idea is very good. I think that nobody will mind if you upload to rapidshare or megashere. There is also mihd.net which have no limitation at all.

That might not be Nero Micro's fault because I just burned using multiple recorders with the latest Nero Micro just last night, and they worked just fine. I used an internal (IDE) Samsung TS-H552U DVDRW with US09 firmware and an external (USB) connected Optiarc (Sony/NEC) AD-7190A DVDRW which is really a LiteOn DH-20A3P, and I have LiteOn's latest firmware XP5Z on it. Obviously something did go wrong for you, just wanted to let you know it worked fine for me.

Oh, my config in case it matters: Windows Vista Ultimate with latest updates on ECS AMD690GM-M2 (V1.0A)/Athlon 64 4400+/2 Gb OCZ Platinum/2 x Western Digital 120 Gb SATA in RAID 0 + 1 x Western Digital 40 Gb PATA.

BTW, I see that both your burners are on the same IDE channel. Even though one IDE channel can handle two devices, only one of them can actually be accessed at one time, making it more effecient and less stress on your hardware if both burners are on separate IDE channels. Since you're probably using the motherboard's built-in RAID using the first IDE channel instead of a separate RAID controller, I know this isn't an option without some changes.

Likewise, you could increase the performance of your RAID setup if you put only one hard drive per IDE channel since even in RAID, your computer can only actually access one of your hard drives at a time as it is right now. You could buy two external IDE->USB adapters and use your burners externally, or buy another IDE controller card, but then perhaps you wouldn't be able to boot from the CDRWs with the additional IDE controller card and likewise with the USB if your motherboard doesn't support booting from USB. If it does, I would go that route.

Sorry if this is bad news to you, and also ignore this if you already knew all this. Just trying to help.

Acheron, have you ever tried Savefile.com? A year ago they became popular but started to have lots of server issues. Since their restart they are very good. It's a different filehost than most others, specially designed for project files (like NeroLite).

i seen on the site you can't host on it at this time nero lite at this time from your host but i don't see y Acheron as you where doing before host them some where else and post it on here so we can download them

now with my question, what could be the reason why i only have the express interface with my nero micro english 7.10.1.2 (uploaded by amitri) and there's no button to switch to burning rom interface in it? i hope somebody can help me with this coz everythings fine before i tried to upgrade it from nero micro english 7.9.6.0...

ps: im also using serial key from my nero 7 essentials oem cd, if it matters at all...

It puts a shortcut to only Nero Express on the desktop but it puts shortcuts to both regular Nero and Express in the Start Menu.

Yesterday I downloaded and installed Nero Lite 8.1.1.3 mainly because I needed the BurnRights feature. But it didn´t work after the installation. When executed, BurnRights shows a windows with four options, but none are selectable (they are in grey). It has a button to redefine permissions but it gives an general error and does nothing. Everything else works fine. Did someone had the same problem ? Can someone help me ?

Hello I preinstall Nero 8 Micro at auditUser stage with Vista Ultimate

It seems to install fine but then bombs out with numerous registration errors, such as NeroFileDialog.dll and other dll/ax files

What can I try? should I make Vista reboot before Nero is installed?

you can try Setupcomplete.cmd or FirstLogonCommands to see if it installs fine. Maybe there is less functionality for installers during audit phases.
