or adjust the extract script to use your spanish installer name. I don't give support on creating Nero Lite extensions, but someone published a Recode SDK in this thread.

Ok, I'll read all the topic.
The official nero installer isn't exactly what I looking for.
But above all, I have to say Nero Lite and Micro versions are a great job and thanks to them I'll save time and I'll avoid "junkware" from my computer and many others!!

I can post an updated Recode SDK tomorrow, but it will only work for Nero 8 (anyone interested?). In 1-2 weeks I should find the time to support Nero 7.

got some trouble with nero-7.11.6.0_europe_lite.
Yesterday there was just this nagging "new features" popup, but at least it disappeared.
But now I get stuck with this stupid "configlicense.exe"
This also happens on a fully loaded xp sp3 german. After killing this mentioned process tree everything works fine.
Any ideas?

ente, did you enter a serial number? Nero 7 Lite doesn't provide a trial serial anymore. What happens if you enter your serial manually in the ProductSetup?

of course I did, and the serial is fine, and it worked in the beginning. Then I rebuilt my xpsp3 image. This time I replaced some IE6 related files. These files were falsely downgraded from sp3 by the IE7 slipstream process in hfslip. Namely these were BROWSEUI.DLL, html.iec, ieencode.dll, JSCRIPT.DLL, SHDOCVW.DLL, SHLWAPI.DLL, vbscript.dll. So maybe some of this new sp3 files treat me bad.
Otherwise there was no big change to the image (at least I think so).

For now I'll go back to v7.10-lite which works just fine. But if you want me to try out something...

Hi, I can only build recode for English and Spanish (es-ES & es-LA) locales. And I don't really know if Nero can sue me for doing this, because I'd be distributing 3rd party codecs (although individuals/organizations mirroring the official setup would be in the same case I guess).

I really recommend you to do it yourself, so you can learn how it works. If you are interested in other Nero apps you can use this as a start

I used to make my own MSI installer for Nero, but since i don't use it very often, i began using Acheron releases which are great too. I think that as long as you have a legit nero serial you can use recode as well. maybe you can upload it anonymously to some place else. Remove all info about yourself if you want from the installer.

If you can't, well, i will understand. Then i will find some time to make it using you SDK. Thanks.

I would like to create my own version of the installer of Nero (v8.3.2.1).
So, follow the steps of readme.doc that comes with the files.
First, the install.cmd executed, in this folder TOOLS.
Then follow the step 2, which was EXTRACT NERO FILES, in which I do not know if I was correct, because my installer put the Nero (nero-8.3.2.1_ptbr_trial.exe) in the home folder, where the readme.doc .
However, when executed NeroLite_extract.cmd gave me the following error:
"Error: Could not detect Nero version!
Press any key to continue ... "

When I try to install Nero Lite (both 8.3.2.1 and 7.11.6.0) on XP SP3 with the /SILENT switch, the /SERIAL="XXXXX-XXXXX..." switch doesn't work. Seems to be a known issue (read about it in the forums), but why is it working when you don't use the /SILENT switch?

The SDK extract script looks for the international languages ( nero-8.3.2.1_all_trial.exe or nero-8.3.2.1_all_update.exe ). You will have to download that version, or modify Script\Include\getneroversion.cmd, and then build nero only for Portuguese language...). It's easier to download nero again.

Hi, for next version I'm working on some better dialog handling code. With the current installer sometimes additional prompts are shown which prevents the script from finishing properly. I have not tested yet XP SP3.

Finally I have compiled my NeroLite 8.3.2.1 with the last SDK1.16.1.2. Thanks a lot Acheron for your work.
I had problems with the sripts, though. In NeroLite_europe.cmd it gives me an error "can't find c:\Program"
It's a problem with the lines

I also have some problems with the compilaton of the pack spanish version. It seems NeroRecode_eng.chm, NeroRecode_esp.chm and others files were not in the right folder. Anyway, I have copied them manually and now it works.

I JUST discovered this. Holy sh.... I've been using Nero 6 for ages because it's such a crap nowadays... I am forced to order and install version 8 for some people in the company I work at. Imagine the hell, waiting for up to 30 mins to install the bastard.

Nero 7.11.10.0 has been Released

Over on the RVM forums, there's a "true" addon (meaning, the necessary Nero files are integrated directly onto the XP disc) for v8.3.2.1. It's a pretty remarkable program. I can't get any of my "obtained" keys to work with it, which I suppose is a good thing if you're Ahead.

Acheron, what ever happened to the micro builds? i must have missed a post somewhere about this...

I don't know if %InnoSetupPath% is read from the registry - but I had the same problem that only the first part of a path containing spaces was read.

Im trying 2 make my own Nero-8.3.2.1_recode_english_lite setup. Everything works ok until im gonna compile the new setup. I get an error message saying that 'NeroDigital.ocx' ain't available, but i've checked and it's where it should be.

I've tested a number of times and it's always the same.

Would be gr8 if some1 could help me out here. Either by giving me some advice or hook me up with a "Nero-8.3.2.1_recode_english_lite" setup.

Have you run the micromize scripts? And, first of all, build plain nero lite before trying to build recode. If you can't compile Nero Lite, then you can't compile recode add on.

So the problem is that Bin\[FILELOCATION]\Common Files\NeroDigital\NeroDigital.ocx exists, but not Custom\Bin\[FILELOCATION]\Common Files\NeroDigital\NeroDigital.ocx, right?

I'll try building recode from scratch... However I'm surprised that no one here has reported that error (that probably means no one is using the recode add on).

Edit: yeah, the micromize script had a typo, I didn't notice because I used a previous version and didn't delete the output, so here's the fix.

The Nero SDK is an amazing tool. I was able to not only compile the 7.11.6.0 Lite but also 7.11.6.0 Micro, 8.3.2.1 Lite and 8.3.2.1 Micro versions on my native language (Brazilian Portuguese). :

One thing that people have to be aware is that is necessary about 1.8-2.0 Gb free space on the drive that you are compiling your version(s) using the SDK, but the good news is that you can perform both the Lite and Micro compilations one just after another (if doing for the same version of Nero - and NOT at the same time), so you will save lots of time (and disk space), because only the 5th step must be done separately (for the Lite and Micro .iss files) to accomplish it.

I just did the Recode Lite process and before i compiled it so did i load up the recode iss file into the Compiler and did a 'Run' on it and i got loads of errors

Nero CD-DVD Speed, Nero InfoTool, Nero Toolkit DriveSpeed etc. wasn't copied to the "/Custom/Bin/[FILELOCATION]/" structure.

"NeroRecode_Eng.chm" wasn't available at all.

A bunch of DLL file was missing...... i managed 2 fix some manually by copying the files to the correct location but i gave up in the end........ way to much to fix.

Seems to be a lot of issues with your Lite Recode ISS file

1st: if you want to build nero lite AND recode in a single installation file, then you must also run the plain lite micromize script. And then run 'NeroLite_recode_bundle_english.cmd', otherwise for the addon pack, run 'NeroLite_recode_pack_english.cmd'.
2nd: if you are trying to build it again in the same folder that gave you trouble the previous time... purge that folder and start from scratch. That's what I just did, and it worked.
3rd: You must copy the help files in Custom\Help, same goes for plain nero lite (were you really able to build nero lite?).

No problems at all making a Lite Recode Setup on my m8s computer. Can't understand why it doesn't work on my rig. Oh well, i have a Lite Recode setup now that hopefully works. Will do some more tests on my computer later and try and figure out what going on.

New Nero Lite builds will be available this weekend. It took some time to improve the AutoIt script.
Hopefully this will fix automatic dialog handling. Other changes are mostly to improve the Nero SDK.
It should be a bit easier to write extensions and build Nero Lite.

There is some bug here. Nero is crashing every time I try to add song to list for burning audio CD. It just crash without any error. Anyone can suggest some solution? I did not tested full suite because I don't have it and it's to much for download, not to mention all the bloat that would be installed. Before anyone ask, I have the latest build.
