I have a problem with the file nero-7.11.10.0_europe_micro.exe.
The setup sometimes gets stuck (100% cpu load) while executing configlicense.exe. The weird thing is that it only happens 1 time out of two (using the same config, the same parameters, the same serial, etc.).
For the silent install I use these commands : /VERYSILENT /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES /NORESTART /SP- /USER="***" /COMPANY="***" /SERIAL="***" /TYPE="compact" (the *** represent hidden characters of course).

Just tested the latest SDK with the new Nero release and i couldn't get it to work. Seems like Nero AG have made some 'adjustments' to their installer

I'm still using the 7.7 version as I'm too lazy to ugrade. (what's new?)
Anyway I must say I love this modified program. The original is oversized and uselessly redundant.

What's your problem? There are no SDK changes except a new demo serial number.

Got some problems here. I'm running Nero Lite 8 (latest version) from T-13 stage at Windows Setup. But it doesn't install. The switches i used are 'nero.exe /VERYSILENT /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES /NORESTART /SP- /USER="User" /COMPANY="Home" /SERIAL="XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX" '. Thanks

EDIT : I got it. It doesn't work at T-13. Trying now at first login

hi!

thank you for your great work, i'm really happy to use nero without blowing up my pc

but could you please replace the current lame encoder (mp3pp.dll) with the encoder from here (nxlame.dll)? it gives you much more settings and works with nero 8.

Hi,

I've successfully created the Nero-8.3.6.0_english_lite.exe and micro, but when I try to create the Recode version I'm getting the following error:

Error: There is no valid certificate in the my cert store
Error: Signing Failed. Result = 8009200c, (-2146885620)
File not found

I also know the error is in this line:

..\Tools\CodeSigning\signcode.exe -s my -cn "Klaas Nekeman" -i http://updatepack.nl -t http://timestamp.verisign.com/scripts/timstamp.dll "AdvrCntr3.dll"

Is this because the RecodeSDK hasn't been updated (yet) for Nero 8.3.6.0?

I don't support the RecodeSDK, since I'm not the author of it. Perhaps it is better to start a new thread for the Recode Addon.

Acheron, I really appreciate your work on Nero Lite, but do you care to fix bugs in it? For me whole Music page in Nero Express is not working. For example if I choose Audio CD and try to add some mp3 file I get message:

One or more files could not be added to a compilation.

It may be possible, that the files can be added, if a dedicated plug-in is installed.

When I try to add mp3 file in "Jukebox Audio CD" Nero just crash without any error messages. I already mentioned this bug here and errors from Event Viewer are there. Same problem exist in Nero Burning ROM. Please fix this. BTW, I'm using your latest release, and this problem existed in previous version too.

I don't know if this is normal.... am I doing something wrong? I read the readme.rtf file and followed the instructions. This is what I did from the beginning:

1) Ran \Tools\install.cmd to install Inno and inno related things
2) Put the nero trial I downloaded into the root of the NeroLiteSDK directory
3) Ran NeroLite_prepare.cmd

It extracted the files from the nero setup, then it ran the nero setup, I clicked next until I got the to Language Selection. The trial I downloaded was for English only, so I just clicked Next. On the next screen, I pressed cancel, then I pressed Finish. That's when it started the Micromize process and that's when the errors showed. Any ideas??

Also, I want to include Nero Recode and Nero Vision into the nero lite setup. I found the RecodeSDK in this thread, but it was only v1.16.1.2 (for Nero v8.3.2.1). I have 2 questions about that:
1) Can I use that version of RecodeSDK for Nero v8.3.6.0?
2) Can you provide better instructions on how to use the RecodeSDK? Do I run the recode micromize script after the nero micromize script, or do I run it instead of the nero micromize script. The documentation was vague.

Is it possible at all to include Nero Vision?

@AtomicRabbit. The error messages are in fact just warnings. I might alter it for next SDK release. It just says the reshacked files are not signed. For the official release I sign all binary files with my certificate.

Did you manage to build Nero Lite?

ah... that's what I thouht... yes I was able to build Nero Lite... but I REALLLY REALLY want to be able to use Nero Recode. How can I create an addon or integrate it into the nero lite installer?

I've been looking for a non-bloatware piece of CD/DVD burning software and I have found it with your software -- Nero Lite and Nero Micro! Thanks so very much! I'm currently running XP SP2, but might be doing a clean install of Vista Home Premium.

One question, please: Please explain what I am to do to get rid of the "trial version" and activate with serial #? I apologize if this has been posted, but I will REALLY appreciate the info.

I'm currently running your Nero Micro 8.3.6.0 english version, and I receive the dialog box about "...will expire in xx days".

You have to buy Nero 8 as usual in order to activate Nero 8 Micro or Nero 8 Lite.

You need to read the first posts to know the supported switches. You can input the registration info this way.

Because the Recode SDK isn't working with the latest version, I'd like to have a go with the older SDK.

Hi Folks

Just tried this today (downloaded the 8.3.6.0 version from the first post) and used the following to execute

nero.exe /silent /norestart /user=jid /serial=xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx (where x is replaced by my actually code)

everything installs silent which is good...but when i try to run "Nero Express" it tells me to put my code in so i copy and paste the code from the command line and it then accepts it.....

can someone please check that i have got the command line correct please....

also can someone tell me how to get a shortcut to "Nero Express" on my desktop after installing, as nothing is created

I'm thinking of releasing another update to Nero Lite to improve FileType associations and improve cleanup a bit.

@JID. The setup commands are for the installer, not for nero.exe.

@People with MP3 issues. Please check your serial.

I actually found a work around anyway....if you install using nero.exe and the manually enter your serial number / username it creates a reg file in the nero folder....

if you copy and past this reg file into the directory after you install...its registers the prog

Also u mentioned i needed the installer and not nero.exe. can you let me know where i can get the installer from then as i thought that was the file on the first post

You actually have to activate Nero otherwise you get an fatal error. You can use official Nero msi file to do activation or enter serial through ControlCenter tool. As I can't call the MSI activation functions I use the second method by using autoit.
I don't know why your serial isn't entered through the commandline. What happens when you do a normal install entering the same serial number?

if i do a normall install when i start the program it asks me for my serial which i put it...everything then works ok....

i have tried several times on the comman line install (in case of typos)

If you use regshot 2.0 to capture the registry entries, you can easily turn this into a portable application, so you can carry it on a usb flash drive. after you're done using it, just run the undo reg file and it'll get rid of all the reg entries.

only problem is you'll have to edit the drive assignment of the flash drive since it will be different for different computers.

i tried using a expandable variable %Nero% to point to the files (to avoid having to edit the reg file), but it errors out on advrcntl.dll. Looks like expandable variables don't work at some parts of the registry.

Nevermind, it doesn't work on a computer where Nero where never installed. Back to the drawing board.

I worked on a portable version of v7.x and it did work, but you needed to register some dll files. Which can be unregistered via scripts as well.
Look for the files that Acheron installer registers and do it yourself, maybe it works and we can have a real portable nero.

I don't have the time to work on it right now, but will gladly join you when i can.

When I click the first link for Nero Lite latest version English I get "file not found" from iFile. I assume this is the same problem others are having. Have you tried this link?
