@Acheron

Script is perfect, everything is working fine, just a few small details to Your attention:

1. Disk image or saved project - window "Open" opens CENTERED, not default for nero, can this be fixed? In all toher instances nero opens window "Open" left-alligned.

2. Nero cover designer-file-open does not show hidden folders though nero in general always shows hidden folders. Can this be fixed as well?

Apart from that latest Nero version is very fluent and stable in work...

Thank You in advance,

All the best,
Alex

When I click the first link for Nero Lite latest version English I get "file not found" from iFile. I assume this is the same problem others are having. Have you tried this link?

Nero Lite
Actually not. I always use the european version as I'm german. Didn't think about the english-only link. Sry, my bad. But you may just use that version, too, till the english-only file is reuploaded.
TheWalrus
I was wondering, when it comes to the basic burning software, what's the difference between Nero 7 and 8?

Oh, no problem. My fault too since I didn't even consider that the european version might have English in it as well, and also my assumption that you would use English. smile.gif

I would guess HDDVD and Blu-Ray support, or better support if v7 already had that.
TheWalrus
Tried downloading Nero 8 Lite/Micro, english version, and always getting "file not found". Hum...
zeroFX
Hey, my friend, just take a look up ... newwink.gif (if you don't see it: it seems to be down, just get the european version till it's fixed)
mara-
You can download all version here. Just uncompress it and install.

Cheers newwink.gif
Acheron
I have uploaded some new test builds to my site.

Under the hood there are some big code changes, so I want these changes to be tested before any new Nero release.

Have fun rolleyes.gif
TheWalrus

john2007

Does exist a latest Nero Vision standalone version? I didn't want the almost 200mb full nero.

Thanks to everyone!

when it gives that i woud be great man newwink.gif can someone make this ?
zeroFX
"when it gives that i would be great"? -> "if there was/were something like that, it would be great" newwink.gif whistling.gif
Acheron
Well, I have released a Nero SDK. Also someone else already built a Recode Addon. You can use that material to go build the script. You only need a lot of time to test changes when you go make it lighter.

hi, is there a portable version of nero lite v.8.3.6.0? That would be cool cool.gif

Why would you need a portable version of a recorder software? Sorry, but it doesn't make any sense (installation is easy, and if you don't have rights to install software, you don't have rights to register servers required by nero.
zeroFX
A portable version is of some practical use, if you often use your software on different computers and don't want to install it on(to) each one. Not willing to install software on different systems is not the same as/doesn't equal not having the rights to do so. newwink.gif
Also there are some portables of Nero on the net, but as far as i know, they already include a (pirate) key. So their use would be illegal. If there was a popup asking for a/the key – or a way to incorporate your own key – that would possibly be legal. But i don't know that for shure.
Inferi0r
@darks0ul: I agree with zeroFX. An other reason why portable apps become more and more popular is because you don't have registry entries and other files on your pc after uninstalling. For computer repairing (and making backups) is portable apps include recorder software the way we like.
dkrus
I myself have made quite a few portable apps and games and saves alot of GB's I have to reinstall on fresh installs.
provolino
Sorry if it is a little OT but, is it possible to have a stand-alone installer for Nero MediaHome?
I use it to share files with my ps3 and I don't want to install all the garbage like Nero Scout etc sad.gif

Thanks a lot

@Nero Lite Creator
Would you consider adding an install option for Nero Vision? Nero Vision is needed to burn video files such as .avi to a DVD without the need or use of a different program to convert video files into DVD files.
How does anyone currently burn movie files to DVD with Nero Lite?

I know this doesn't answer your question, but I don't use Nero for converting/burning AVIs to DVD. I use VSO ConvertXtoDVD. I find it superior, faster, and more configurable, flexible and reliable than Nero Vision, which I used to use but haven't now for about three years. Of course I prefer subtitles in my movies, and that was one of the big plusses of ConvertXtoDVD for me, that it would handle converting subtitle files into proper DVD subtitles (not hard-coded into the video) as well. I don't know if Nero Vision has improved in that department but three years ago it didn't handle subtitles at all.
randomjester
ConvertXtoDVD was a good recommendation. I downloaded and installed it to try out. It worked perfectly for converting video files into DVD files. It can even do the burning on its own without the use of another program.
I'm happy using Nero Lite and ConvertXtoDVD. That covers all my burning needs.

Cool, I'm happy to help and glad it does the job for you. I know there are hundreds of conversion to DVD programs out there and it took me several years of searching to find the reliable one that is ConvertXtoDVD. I don't recall ever having a serious issue with it. If you get into customizing it (to change the default DVD menus, et cetera), there are some things to get used to, but since you don't have to learn those things unless you want to, it's great for just drop and convert too.

Hello,

Nero 9 is out. thumbup.gif
Nick_White
The current version of Nero Micro, 1.17.1.0 doesn't apply the serial number. Tried using normal and silent install. The previous version, 1.17.0.1 works fine though.

If I'm not wrong, Nero 9 doesn't bring any new version of Burning ROM, just some new "Nero *" programs.

Not only that, with nero 9 more MB size means more bugs!

I have worked on fixing the automated serial entering code for current builds. I'm now waiting for the upcoming Nero 8.4 release which hopefully won't break anything.

Nero 9 has some new features and a lot of additional software utilities. I noticed some new audio plugins which hopefully will also be included with Nero 8.4. So hopefully we can finally get rid of the unsupported Mausau plugins. It's a shame Nero didn't update the audio plugins since Nero 5.

While testing a bit I could get the new flac support working in Nero 8 thumbup.gif.

P.S. I have decided not to work on Nero 9 Lite for now. I will continue update Nero 7 Lite and Nero 8 Lite and their SDK, but no more new features will be added.

keep up the good job bro thumbup.gif

Sweet I cannot wait until the new releases with integrated serials!

Before any new Nero release I will upload new builds to my site:

Nero 8.3.6.0 build 1.17.2.1 changelog:
- Fix automated serial entering code
- Update gdiplus.dll (Windows 2000 Security Fix)

Nero 7/8 English builds are now available from my website. As soon as I get reports back that the serial entering stuff is working I'll upload other language builds soon. A new SDK will get released 1 week later.

Thank you for the fix build.

I installed Nero 7 Lite, but clicking "Enter New Serial Number..." on Nero Burning ROM's Help Menu does not open the Nero ProductSetup as it should do on the build 1.17.0.1.
Acheron
Updated builds to 1.17.2.2. Fixes the Nero 7 ProductSetup path issue and try to improve uninstall a bit. All languages updated.

Thank you so much for your hard working.

I have tried both versions 7 and 8 on my Win XP SP3 desktop. I would like to send some reports for you:

1.Nero 7 Lite:
While installing the pop-up window "Nero ProductSetup - Enter New Serial Number" appeared for a short moment then disappeared.

2.Nero 8 Lite:
I once filled my serial number in the installing process but when I open Nero Burning ROM the "Welcome to Nero" window still pop-ups and asks me to enter serial number.
john2007
When i download Nero 8 Lite v8.3.6.0 and with installing it i Entered the Serial Number then keep installing the rest of it at the end there's a pop up for like 2 sec's something about changing the Serial Number cant really remember it was fast don't know if that's a bug or not that needs to be fixed or not anyways other then that had no other problems
Acheron
That dialog is there to actually put the serial in. In previous versions this dialog also did show for a split second. Anyway I have worked on optimizing the speed and changes will be included in the SDK release.
john2007
o ok cool thanks Acheron

I just installed Nero Lite 7.11.10.0-1.17.2.2. And after entering my serial number in the installing process, I had to enter it in the Nero Product Setup once again.

I just installed Nero Lite 8.3.6-1.17.2.2 using a /SERIAL with my serial number in the installing process, but at first run of Nero I had to enter it in the Nero Product Setup once again.
The old version is OK.

Inferi0r
Build 1.17.1.0 was working ok with entering serial, but in v1.17.2.2 it is broken, you have to enter your serial twice.

Hi, on different torrent sites you can download "Nero 9.0.9.4b Lite", but on updatepack.nl i see this;
"P.S. I’m not interested in building Nero 9 Lite any time soon."

So is this nero lite made by someone else?

i have not used it yet.. but i was just wondering who build this nero lite 9.. but i guess nobody here knows..

All Acheron's release has a digital signature.

If it's not signed, then it's not released by Acheron.

hi Acheron,
just a little request rolleyes.gif
is it possible to add in nero lite the package 'nero image drive' too?
this package is very important for me so I would like to have it in nero lite version 8.3.6.0

thank in advanced

@dottbin, no need for it. You can use daemon tools; http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/download.php

Much butter tool for mounting (and it is freeware).
