ok here is my prob... ive got win2k asking me for a previous version of windows so it can intsall... this is p***ing me off a bit as the same thing happened with me with xp, anyway i fixed xp by putting setupp.ini into the i386 folder but thats not working for 2k...
any ideas?

You shouldn't need a previous version, you must be using thew upgrade option. Look for a clean installation, and if you can't perform one because its greyed out or not there, you must have changed setupp.ini so that setup thinks its an OEM version (upgrade only). Go Here to see how to change it to make windows a retail version

i am doing a clean install and i have fiddled with the setup.ini already sad.gif

Should definitely work if you edit it. I've tried it. If you change the PID line to "pid=51882 335" you'll have a working retail CD
