Im not going to write a review of the game here, just let you know what you probably figured anyway....
this game is the most intense, realistic, war FPS i have ever played. period.
the game is full of so much detail, yet you dont have time to take most of it in!
little details such as the "levels" (more like scenes than levels really) are based on real war plans and locations. im not talking like battlefield 1942 is where whole regions of europe are sqeezed onto tiny maps, this game is like "Band Of Brothers - the game"
Dead cows in fields. abandoned trucks by the road, dead people laid around their belongings nearby. Buildings burn, and when the fires gone out the charcoaled remains glow with very nicely done textures. The chared embers look real enough for you to know not to bother touching them or its gonna hurt!
Some great scenes, such as early on where you take a small town by night, then later defend it by day from infading German troups and mortar fire, and then their Panzers roll in....
An awesome game, well worth the price tag. Id recommend it to anyone who likes FPS games, if you liked MOHAA, Wolfenstein, or Battlefield then this is definatley a game to buy! It is beter than all 3 of those games rolled together.

its by the same people who made mohaa :S
i only played 3 levels so far and think its kinda crap the levels seem stupidly short .
the RTCW levels seemed about 5x as big as the ones in this game so far from what i remember ,do the levels actually get longer as you play? levels you can complete in 4-5minutes really sux
Excellent. I've been waiting to play this...

Snoop:
What difficulty level are you playing at? I'm playing the hardest and I'm on the level where you have to defend the town against the German invasion and take out the tank with the panserfaust. I can get to the panserfaust but I can hardly get out the door of the church without getting my a** handed to me!
So far I think the game is awesome. Played multiplayer with Lurch and we had a blast. Only played deathmatch so far. Maps seemed larger in multiplayer for some reason. You, FthrJACK, Lurch, and I need to get online and kick some butt one of these days. Eve is getting boring

I need some action dammit!

That doesnt really have anything to do with levels beeing short ,game devlopers shouldnt get it into there heads that they can make levels as short as they want aslong as they make the enemy's you face stupidly hard
some of the levels since ive played it abit more have got slightly longer but are still pretty short compared to alot of other games

Snoop, i suggest playing it till you get to the Soviet campaign at least...
when i got there i was pretty freaked out by the size of the levels and just how real it was. it made you think.. "
hang on.. people did this for real. holly crap!"
how they did it in real life i dont know, death all around you, people cowering in corners litterally wetting their pants, officers shooting scared and panicing soldiers "for desertion", getting missed out of the que when the guns are handed out with all the confusion going on...
it was just a masacre...

It does seem to be a great game even only using single player...and the realism can give a rock in the pit of your stomach sometimes...off topic-Watch Band of Brothers to get a better feeling of what it may have been like.

I might as well make a useful post, no?
Since I've been looking and thinking about it for awhile, and now a particular new wave of eyecandy games has came out...
What soundcard and vidcard is everybody using for Call of Duty... any reccomendations, budget saving ideas and whatever else?
Gotta dump this GeForce2 someplace someday, and this AC97 sound ugh! Anything but this! Crashes almost every game.

Sound Card - SB Audigy 2 for under 100 dollars
Radeon 9800 SE - 160 dollars
If your getting ready for HL2, then ATI from what ive heard will perform best over the nvidia cards, but truthfully, both will likely play the game just as good (ATI may have better image qual), probably more a matter of when Nvidia gets its dx stuff together.
Those are a good combination, or you could just get a GF Ti4200 128 which is about 100 dollars to hold you off till you need to upgrade BIG when the newer games arrive next year.
Soundblaster cards last a looooooong time, so you could even skimp and get an audigy 1.

Hey Snoop my ol' pal..... Have you ever thought, perhaps, you've gotten better at these games, and it makes it seem like the missions go fast? I know some levels in MOHAA took forever..... that game didn't have one of those compasses like COD does, did it? Maybe cuz in games like that you get LOST ALL THE TIME!
