How do I customize the common task bar in XP? Any way?
I'd like to modify the list of places. At the top.

Where it says 'other places'.
It would be nice to change the other stuff too.

That's a good question.
I'm in need of that, cause I want to integrate 3rd party toolbars by install...
Can anybody help?

I believe that is part of the visual style or shell32.dll. You need to reshack it to change it. I haven't seen anyone do it yet as I've been looking for a way but don't know how to reshack scripts.
I hope some finds a way to really do this.

Thanks for the info and i think you may be right that it's shellstyle.dll as i have seen the common tasks at the bottom instead of the side in certain themes...
however...
Do you know how to customize the "other places"?
It would be great if someone who had the know-how to write a basic guide on customizing that portion!
thanks.
