I know Battlefield 1942 is an older game but sometimes the simpler FPS' get it right too. The game can be a lot of fun but many more systems are made with Multi Core CPU's or basically SMP. Battlefield 1942 will install on these systems but when you load a map it will crash. I have found a work around and continue to play on my athlon 64 4200+ x2. You have to actually fool the game into running on only one core. I have instructions available as well as .exe's that are already setup to be used.

The info is available here: http://forums.ventshop.net/modules.php?nam...wtopic&t=92

Or if you would like to complete the modification yourself, which can also be useful for some other games and apps that don't play nice with a SMP system you can go here: http://forums.ventshop.net/modules.php?nam...wtopic&t=91

thumbup.gif I hope that this helps anyone still wanting to play Battlefield 1942 or it's mods like Desert Combat or Forgotten hope out. thumbup.gif
