1. Visit www.emaxhosting.com
2. Purchase package (all are inexpensive but great values)
3. Use c-panel to install Invision Board
4. Configure Invision Board.

You can click on my signature below and check out my site if you are interested in seeing how well Emax's service works.

Later!

I don't believe as a first time linux user that it would be wise for you to try to run it on your own...

Well... to explain to you how to install and configure Linux and then install and configure Invision could be a book. There are also ASP boards that will run in Windows.

you are going to need to get a host that has PHP & mySQL installed

trust me... it's worth $5 hosting not to have to install and configure all of that. ----------> http://www.eMaxHosting.com

Remember... you get what you pay for... (most of the time...)

as you have never done it before and, as you made apparent in your posts, you just want to get to grips with how to go on for now.. then your free host should get you to a stage where your site is built, ready and running as you like it. If it isnt hosted on a proper server though expect problems if you start getting regular site traffic (hell thats the reason MSFN has moved servers so many times)

Good luck with your project, and if you do end up needing that host.. you cant argue with Emax's packages. (xperties you owe me $5 tongue.gif j/k)
