ok fine try to install the DirectX 9.0c which was came along with the NFS MW CD, because some supporting files which is needed to run NFS will be extracted from Dx9.0c.

but for me the game is working fine in windows XP x64!

Often the problem is the one sitting in front of the computer, and not the computer itself. The game runs fine here, in fact all of the NFS games do.

Not in this case.

I also have the 64 bit version XP. I had the same exact problem. You would try and install the game and get an error message telling you about directx. I found a solution to this problem and the game is installing as I type this.

Follow what is described here. I didn't burn the files to a disc, however. I simply mounted the iso file using a virtual drive and ran it that way. I had disc 2 inserted into the actual drive and when the virtual disc was done, it immediately went straight to reading from disc 2.

The Directx I downloaded can be had here. http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/directxdownload.html (9.0c)

I hope this helps some of you speed fiends out there. Good luck!

*Edit*
The game has successfully installed and it's time to lay some rubber!
