mad.gifI'd like to make a live CD isong Windows PE...not BartPE or anything like that. Why? I can't get some apps that only work with windows installed mad.gif but i can run them on Windows PE.... I just have a few questions:

1. How do i get the start menu to work? Is there a dll file for it or what? If its a dll file..ill just use rundll32 on Windows PE shifty.gif

2. Does Windows PE 2004, from Microsoft's OPK have a time limit?

Thanks in advance smile.gif

The PE does have a time limit, although the newest version (from OPK 1.1) has 24 hours... This isn't always true however, since I had a machine in the PE for more than 3 days. I didn't do it on purpose, but I just didn't get around to working on that machine until then.

Also, the PE doesn't load explorer, so you don't have a start menu. Some people have successfully gotten explorer to be the shell for PE, but you'll just have to browse the forum for those.

There is a project that will create a Windows PE 2.x boot disk along with Explorer shell.

The whole process is completely automated and uses Vista DVD as source to get all required files.

Apps are included using app scripts posted by members that you download inside the program like Ubuntu's synaptic manager and this has been developed for nearly two years at the same time as Vista was also released and has nothing to do with BartPE nor 24 hours limitations.

Just doesn't get any easier than this.
