I have altered the icons in shell32 on windows 2000 successfully, and replaced the file successfully.

however the shutdown Icon on the startmenu still appears to be the old one and so does things liek the batch script icon and an unknown file icon still old as well.

anyone know how to solve that?

thanks.

download tweakui and click on repair icon cache. it's worth a try although i think it may not work because the icons you mention are shell icons rather than program/shortcut icons.

if it doesn't work, the problem might be the resolution of the icons you replaced. if it's too high resolution than win2000 can handle, it might revert to the low resolution one.

I'll try that.

all icons are the same size...

hmm a real puzzler.

sorted!

rebuild Icon cache in Tweak UI, sorted everything!

thanks space surfer!
