Thunderbolt 2864
Hey guys, I recently picked up a GA-EP45-DQ6 motherboard and I have this weird issue. In the BIOS my CPU it reads the speed as 2.8Ghz (Sometimes even lower) but when I boot into Windows it reads as 3.16 Ghz which is correct. If the BIOS reads it under 3.16 Ghz but would it affect my speed or is this some weird glitch?

I paid for a 300 dollar CPU and I don't want it to be automatically downclocked and to be slower than it should be.

If you want your CPU run at max speed, turn of EIST and other features in your BIOS. Just remember that if your CPU is under full load, it will run at the speed it is rated for newwink.gif.
Other than that, itīs completely normal what you are getting…

You may also be missing the microcode in the BIOS to match your CPU, I'd update your BIOS to the latest revision to see if it helps.
