1M IOPs from Flash - actions speak louder than words

Its been so difficult to keep all this to myself over the last few months, especially last month when we actually reached our goal. 1 Million real life IOPs at less than 1ms - no caching, just pure raw performance.

Just want to point out this isnt a single drive, this is a special array of SSD drives which IBM made in 71U including the UPS. Still an amazing accomplishment in performance and size IMO. woot.gif

I think this is the most impressive single drive: Intel X25-E Extreme
Rebooted
According to IBM it appears to be a standard SSD array from a company called Fusion-io that IBM integrated into one of its server based SAN controllers. Just think, if Microsoft added similar software functionality we could use any off the shelf server and an SSD array from Fusion to the same thing thumbup.gif
