Hell friends, can anyone give me instructions on how to update the BIOS on my PC?
It is an HCL P4 with and 845 motherboard.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Read the F. Manual xD

Otherwise google manufacturer's website for assistance.

General tip: Hit tab key on computer cold turkey startup to see the "dos screen", if you already do, look for things like "Hit Del to enter setup", only you want to enter Bios upgrade.
This way you dont need a bootable floppy disc as long as computer can read your device.

General tip2: Older computer's dont normally have a hot key to enter bios updater, so you have to anyway lookup website and download the bios update with also a boot floppy.

Welcome to the forums, you posted in wrong category btw. cool.gif

Its best if you update your BIOS when your computer is about to boot, I think most motherboards require you to press the "End" key after it detects all your internal drives. If you don't have a floppy, use your USB stick to read the BIOS. Or unless if your drive still uses a FAT/FAT32 partition you can access your BIOS file from that drive.
