my friend need some help:

I'm looking for either some type of software or technology to allow me to keep track of a task list, and have the following requirements in order from most to least important:
1) Version control/history OR automatic backups at regular intervals.
2) Accessible from any computer (i.e. it's on a server connected to the Internet -- I have my own server I can work with if needed)
3) Can store a cached version on my local machine automatically every time I access the list. This way, if I have no Internet connectivity for some reason, I can at least read the list.

I've tried a few different setups, but none of them have been able to fulfill all of the requirements. Do you geniuses have a solution for me?

I having trouble understanding what exactly you are looking for.

What about something like 'Remember the Milk'?

Or revision control software like CVS?

Milk seems to work fine for me. I really don't need to track every single change, I mainly only wanted to keep a history of completed tasks, which this does. Also, now that I know to visit https://rememberthemilk.com/offline/, my Google Gears install works properly in showing me all of my tasks even when not connected to the Internet.

I had considered CVS, but it's too large of an implementation, and not directly suited for my needs. Thanks for the suggestions though.
