i'm trying to find a way to automate my way of creating a pdf file.
the file name never changes. (c:\reports\file.doc)

I'm currently using Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional

any suggestions?

even if i can copy the file to the "Adobe PDF" printer that would be great.

You need to send the data into the Distiller. It can create the PDF for you. I don't know how to do it, but a program I worked on in a past job made PDFs this way. You should be able to find some documentation for using the Distiller with your preferred language.
