Why has the forum begun to require me to login every time I return from leaving the site (reusing the tab)? This just started yesterday (Saturday, 7-11-2009). Thanks, John.

EDIT: I am also seeing error messages (Authorization mismatch - please go back and try again. If you have been trying to access a function incorrectly, please use the proper method.) when I try to Preview a Reply.
GrofLuigi
Two times today for me. I hope it gets solved soon.

But no additional error messages once I'm logged in.

I've had both issues today as well. It probably has to do with setup'ing the new site front page (web server restarted perhaps?). Most likely it won't happen again.

I hope it gets solved soon.

It's not like it's been happening for a whole week, and had to re-login a couple dozen times or anything.

Edit: talked too fast. Had to re-login 4 times so far. Looks like the old problem's back.
Tarun
I believe it's related to the CMS change on the frontpage.
herbalist
I've seen that authorization mismatch error every time I've posted today. If I don't page another page or thread every 30 minutes or so, I have to log in again.
g-force
1 of 5 posts I got the "authorization-error" - 4 times no problem.
Forum is often slow while getting "New Posts".

Same here. Hope it gets fixed soon.

argh!! the new msfn frontpage looks ugly sad.gif
Tripredacus
I've only had to relogin once and have not gotten those mismatch errors.
gamehead200
I've gotten the mismatch errors only when using "Fast Reply" and have had to log in three times today. "Quick Edit" also seems to be a bit choppy.

Ha! Got the mismatch error when posting this!

If you get the posting error, back up and refresh the page. It will go through the 2nd time. What you typed will still be there but copy it if you want to be extra sure,

Huh? wacko.gif What else would one use if they are not using quick reply? whistling.gif

Here's one for you. Still it seems that frontpage and forum logins aren't working properly. Since the website got upgraded, I decided to test out the comment issue. Its old news that comments are never tagged, so I did this:

1. Clear cookies (closed browser) and session data
2. Go to home page.
3. Log in from Homepage. Logged in and everything great.
4. Made a comment on news article

Results:
http://www.msfn.org/cms/news_story/windows...ng_13_july.html

Note: It won't let you post a comment if you aren't logged in. After you post a comment, you are no longer logged into the home page (because you can't make new comments), but you are logged into the forum. Also, it said my time was 6:10pm!

Well that's what happened to me. Comments still broken. Also if you go to the home page, it says that news item has 0 comments. If you click it, it suddenly says 1 comment. If you go back to the homepage, it says 0 again.

I wouldn't want to figure this headache out! crazy.gif

JK Xper does a great job! thumbup.gif

EDIT: OK I finally got this message... It has to do with the session data I believe. The session hash stored by the browser does not equal the one stored on the server. This doesn't mean that the hash is changing, but perhaps it is expiring on the server, which can give this message also.

I'v got the errors many times today and as late as 5 minutes ago.
Almost impossible to use the board at the moment because of this.

Also if I enable activeX (which is disabled by default) pages take ages to download...
Tripredacus
I may have found what is causing this issue. I will report it and hopefully it can be fixed soon.
xper
I'm working on it for several hours. Be patient please.
Fredledingue
That's fine. We will wait. newwink.gif

(just saying the problem is still there thought)
Dude112
Hmmmm i dont see any errors here.....

Thanx for looking into things XPer smile.gif
xper
Seems like all issues has been fixed. I can't reproduce any error.
TheWalrus
Good to know.
On a side note - is there any way to change the look of the main page at least a little bit? The blue is SO pale it looks really weird.
I liked the old look much more smile.gif

I'm having to log in again/auth error when I click in a subscription email. You need to give it some time from your last browsing session to see it. I also get a session ID in my address bar when I get here after clicking the link....site not seeing my cookie.

Tried clearing cookies but still happens.

I'm still getting the authorization mismatch error when using the "Fast Reply" box every so often. sad.gif

It happens with fast reply, reply and new topic. Haven't seen it with full or quick edit yet.

When completing an edit with "Quick Edit," the form just freezes up and doesn't complete the edit at all. I have to copy everything and use the "Full Edit" to, well, edit my posts. tongue.gif

still being asked to login everytime i close & open browser.
gamehead200
Yes, we know there's still an issue. No need for everyone to keep telling us. rolleyes.gif There isn't much we can do until xper comes online.
xper
We are working on it. Please be patient.

We apologize.

That's not happening for me at all. I haven't tested the timeout option with edit, I can do that now.

A few minutes ago I was not able to login. The solution, after many trials, was to clear the browser cache and cookies. Clearing only cookies did not correct the problem. Enjoy, John.

This may happen as we try to correct the problem. shifty.gif
fossey
You could try and use the Portal Addon for IPB which will get rid of any problems you are having with user authentication.
johnhc
I not sure whether it is thought this is all corrected. I hope someone will post when it is believed to be. I continue to get the 'Authorization mismatch' when I preview or add a reply and send a PM. Thanks, John.

Clear your cookies and temporary internet files and try again.
Dude112
I wonder if its browser related....

Everything is fine on IE6 (Using MyIE2 in front)
cluberti
I've tracked mine to my ISA firewall. If I go direct, everything works - as soon as I move the client behind ISA, the cookies don't survive for more than a few minutes (sometimes even less).

Cleared cookies and still having the issue. Closing and reopening the browser forces a logout.
ripken204
wow guys, enough about this already, we don't need a thread full of ppl saying that it doesn't work.
xper is aware of the problem and said that he is working on it.
when the problem is resolved i am sure that he will let us know.

Everything is fine. Just report it as i work at it all the time.

As always a bit off-topic, (but not much newwink.gif) the re-login problem still appears, though seemingly in a non reproducible manner, most probably because the Admins are working on it while online , the good news is that now Opera - that some time ago had problems with "Initializing attachments" - has resumed working properly with them. thumbup.gif

I had many problems about last 16 hours to login with Firefox.
I changed some settings (keep/delete historie), cleared cache and so on.
I wasn`t able to login,then I gave IE8 a try - and success!
So I started Firefox again - and success... whistling.gif

Actual settings in Firefox: No historie, clear cache on exit.

I still have this, if it takes to long to write an answer. When I do this I'll still get the Authorization mismatch message
