Hi, I'm currently running a lite RTM version of windows 7

I managed to get the ICS (internet connection sharing) started by running the dependency service "Windows Firewall" but I can't manage to share a drive.

I get the message:
QUOTE
An error occurred while trying to share Funk. Incorrect function. The shared resource was not created at this time.

I noticed that on the "Change advanced sharing settings" turning the "Turn on network discovery" and "Turn on file and printer sharing" options can not be saved for some reason.

I've also copied the windows 7 games (e.g. chess) but none of them will start. I copyed any game and cards dll's from the system32 folder but it does not help.

Anyone, please?
I'm pretty satisfied with my current windows version if i could find a workaround, at least for the sharing part. rolleyes.gif

can anyone help please?

again the scheme is:

USB DSL INTERNET ------> DESKTOP PC (Windows 7) --lan--> LAPTOP (Windows 7)

the settings for the DESKTOP PC are:

as you can see the LAN network appears unidentified on the desktop PC even though its set to ICS using the ip 192.168.0.1 to share the DSL connection

the settings for the LAPTOP are:

the problem is i can't manage to turn sharing on, that's to say after i enable it from the advanced sharing, the settings do not save.
i can access a shared laptop drive from the dekstop but not the other way around (i can't share anything). zminin dot com
