hi, I have recently been trying to install 98se on this old laptop I had given to me

compaq armada 1590 dm

500mb hardrive

32mb ram

(sorry this is all i know)

And the problem i get is that it doesnt fill my laptop screen , it leaves about an inch each side of the display

I have been trying to change stuff in the display propertys, but it will not allow me to change anything

I have tryed other operating systems on it (vector linux, **** small linux....) and they work fine (fill the screen)

any ideas?

thanks in advance! smile.gif

Try the display driver from the link below. The page has quite a few other drivers and updates you may need as well.

Make sure you have the resolution set to its native.

If the right driver is there make sure the display type is set correctly. if it gets set to a 800x600 lcd it will never fill the screen if it does 1024x768. So set the screen type to the correct one.

I cannot change the resolution, it will not allow me to change it?

Change your montor type:
display propertis/settings/advanced/monitor/change(or somthing)
add digital flat panel(1024x768)
