AMD ATHLON XP 2000+
256 MB DDR RAM
ATI RADEON 9800
19" Flat Screen Monitor

Small problem.

EXCELLENT Ping on Medal Of Honor
200 FPS

Fraction of a second delay - not like lag or anything.....

Friend of mine has this problem.... the game isn't runing how it should be, and he plays it constantly so he knows his game.. What could be causing it to delay a fraction of a second so to speak? FPS is excellent, Ping is excellent, Refresh Rate is at 75...

Just weird I think.. Many people are blaming it on the RAM, yet nearly no background programs are running while playing the game.... any advice? Sorry to lack details, but its not that detailed of a problem.

defrag....
what's the speed of the hdd?
blaming it on the ram --> it needs more ram dude. 512 should be min for xp...
close the services...

but i think defrag and ram should do it.
if not tell him to give his computer to me, i'll make good use of it newwink.gif

i'd tend to blame it on the ram too, xp does take up a lot, it's probably having to rely heavily on the pagefile with only 256MB

Hey man, no need to trick us with a fake subject.

I'd check the vsync settings. Turning vsync "off" has been known to cause a slight delay in mouse input, similar to what you're describing. Running your monitor at its highest refresh rate will help this problem. The best thing to do would be turn vsync "on" and run your refresh rate as high as it will go at a specific resolution.

Your setup is certainly fast enough to run Medal of Honor (Quake 3 engine). I doubt that more ram is going to do anything. You could always check your hard drive activity light; if its swapping constantly during gameplay, you'll need more ram.

That suc*ks M8! What if everyone would do that? It would be a mess.

The subject should be a very short description of body text. Like in your case.

"Slow downs in MOHAA w/ a good machine"

ANd I believe it would still attract plenty of PPL especially the ones who has some expertise in MOH:AA

256MB RAM is more than enough to play MOHAA on WInXP!!!!

What if he has some stutterring issue with its RADEON? PErhaps try a different CATALSyST? Turn AA,AF -> OFF

Disable un-needed services...

I play MOHAA fine on Radeon 9600, 256 RAM, 2500+, XP all the time, runs fine.
That is with AGP 8x, fast writes, AA etc.
Disable the VPU Recover feature in the advanced display settings! This has crashed my games a few times when they have tried to change the display settings automatically and the recover feature has tried a counter change.
Also, I once ended up with white "lightning strikes" flashing across the screen continually only in MOHAA (what luck) on the menu screens and in game after I overclocked my GeForce 3 Ti a little to far once, it never worked correctly again ( blushing.gif opps...).
Basically all i am saying is hefty overclocking can cause problems in MOHAA alone (all others worked suprisingly) and turn off the VPU recover feature in advanced display settings, VPU recover tab.
