Now that GM has brought this up - I has a look at the key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer

it's got the Link value to be 1e 00 00 00.

Can anyone explain? I have 'Shortcut to' prefix.

Ahh, nice cover XtremeMaC. >;D

What I'd like to know, is how you can remove the extension from being in the Shortcut. I always show my known app extensions, but when I make a shortcut I hate having to trim out the *.exe or whatever. Any ideas?
