Anyone know the silent switches for McAfee VirusScan Enterprise Version 7.1.0. I need it to select Perpetual from the License screen though.

1st: You will find good informations on the NAI website!
2nd: You will find a "setup.exe" in the directory. Now run:
CODE
setup.exe INSTALLDIR="C:\Program Files\Network Associates\VirusScan" ADDLOCAL=ALL RUNONDEMANDSCAN="" REBOOT=r /qb
This will install all features silent, start the run-on-demand-scan and will not reboot.
I hope this will help.
If not try this guide:

Hi,
Has anyone attempted this?
Do you know which licence type is installed. I require Perpetual. I have scanned though the switches in the install guide, but I can find any thing.
Anyone with any idea would be appreciated
Cheers

I don't see any difference between them. Once it is installed,
if I go to About VirusScan Enterprise in the systray, it just says licensed.
Tried it on the 1 year license and tried it on perpetual.
But a little helpful advice for all using VirusScan Enterprise.
Create your install with the McAfee Installation Designer 7.10
It allows custom settings, such as
OnDemand task scheduling
AutoUpdate task scheduling
patch installation
registry settings changes
updated dats and engines,
silent install
etc
then it recompiles it into a new MSI file.

It should have been included with the license for VirusScan Enterprise 7.10.
If you know your grant number, go to the McAfee web site and you can download it there.

I think you can create a setup.iss file if you have got PowerDVD 5. Or you need to read these:

I've never thought of it unattended!! When I do it I'll tell you.

The installation designer is the best tool for the job.
I only wish more software company's would have programs like this for custom set-ups.
This and transform files are the most flexible installs I have done

These are all the switches in the clown's pocket, so far:
http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...ndpost&p=122977One of them might work.
BTW, do you use the exe or the msi? If you haven't used the msi, then extract it from the exe first, and use it.

There's already a post for autorun cds on this forun. I'll see and edit this post when I find it.
I wonder if this works. Create an inf file like this and put it in the root of your CD:
[autorun]
open=batch.cmd
icon=some.ico
Actually, I haven't tested the batch this way. But, you can test it, yourself.

Oh! You put strings to install your apps silently as you usually do in your main.cmd or apps.cmd!
And, you name your inf "Autorun.inf". So, both CMD and INF are in the root of your CD.

ah...then you want to use the variable %CDROM% instead of %systemdrive%?
Well!
Add these lines to the beginning of your batch:
CODE
cls
@echo off
IF EXIST D:\Autorun.inf set CDROM=D:
IF EXIST E:\Autorun.inf set CDROM=E:
IF EXIST F:\Autorun.inf set CDROM=F:
IF EXIST G:\Autorun.inf set CDROM=G:
IF EXIST H:\Autorun.inf set CDROM=H:
IF EXIST I:\Autorun.inf set CDROM=I:
IF EXIST J:\Autorun.inf set CDROM=J:
Autorun.inf is already there on your CD.
