UPDATE:
DisabledTrucker has uploaded a copy:
QUOTE (DisabledTrucker @ Feb 3 2006, 05:02 PM) *
Okay, I've uploaded the file to RapidUpload for you all, also if you go to RyanVM's site, you can find updated SFC_OS.dll which no longer needs the .reg file to work, you can also find an updated uxtheme.dll file and the updated version of tcpip.sys as well. If you're wanting it updated to work with Pyrons Method, I've made an addon for it too at the same place, you'll also find my addon for this there too, as soon as I get it posted... Hope this helps everyone! biggrin.gif thumbup.gif
Thanks for the possibly only surviving copy, DisabledTrucker (a copy that managed to outlast my own blushing.gif)

EDIT: Just so I don't lose it again and have to beg DisabledTrucker, here's another link, just in case:

Hacked uxtheme.dll:

I have located the files already, I just need to know if my list is complete, but thanks anyways. newwink.gif

Looks OK to me... newwink.gif
Alanoll
technically, you could say you don't need ANY hacked files...but then again....

The List looks good for now...I'm sure there'll be more.
nolookingca
*big sigh of relief* file hunting isn't exactly fun. tongue.gif
Jazkal
Here is my list:

sfc_os.dll (to disable Windows File Protection)
uxtheme.dll (for using custom themes)
tcpip.dll (to allow more than only 10 connections per port, now allows unlimited)
termsrv.dll (to allow for concurrent sessions)
winntbbu.dll (cool Matrix setup screen)
nolookingca
D'oh! I knew I forgot something.

BTW, any "less Matrix-like" screens and login you can recommend?

As for the termsrv.dll, I don't need it, but it'll be good to have. yes.gif

Anyone care to post links to files? Maybe a zip with all of them easy for others and myself to find.

sfc_os.dll (to disable Windows File Protection)
uxtheme.dll (for using custom themes)
tcpip.dll (to allow more than only 10 connections per port, now allows unlimited)
termsrv.dll (to allow for concurrent sessions)
winntbbu.dll (cool Matrix setup screen)

All of the above in one zip for SP2 slipstreams.
nolookingca
termsrv: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...ndpost&p=161513

I'll find sfc soon
nolookingca
sfc: maybe this http://www.msfn.org/board/SFC-OSDLL-SP2-RC2-hacke-t21085.html
nolookingca
I'm certain I saw a Sp2 final version before...can't find it now
sorry for triple

tcpip: http://www.supportbuddy.com/sp2/tcpip.sys this one is unlimited
Jazkal
Here is the thread for SFC_OC.DLL

http://www.msfn.org/board/SFC-OSDLL-hack-XP-SP2-F-t23587.html

And here is the thread for the termsrv.dll

http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?act=ST...t=0#entry161523

NOTE: termsrv.dll is an old build, not a patched 2180 file, still looking for someone to patch this ????
nolookingca
links now added to first post

tcpip:  this one is unlimited

How can you be certain that the above is a "clean" file - I mean, that it is not maliciously embedded with anything by the person who made it?

As for termsrv.dll, will the concurrent sessions work even if you use an RC1/RC2 build-based file, or does it work *ONLY* with build 2055?
WildOptic
Wow, That was fast! thanks guys.

I think 2055 or lower

As for the other issue, some people have used it without problem or use this more limited, but probably good as it has a manual version: http://www.lvllord.de/index2.htm

Since with the manual version lots of people can critisize....

Because I hex edited that myself and tested it. I've even posted that I used this method to patch the tcpip.sys file. If you don't trust me, do it yourself using that method but don't just accuse people of things you don't know about mad.gif

Sorry if I came across as too suspicious.
I was just asking questions that anyone would like to know before using something on their production systems.

In any case, what you have carried out seems to be done perfectly fine. Thanks for pointing me to the site which contains instructions to do the same manually myself.

Anyone mind if I sticky this thread? I'm sure in the coming days when more and more people get SP2, there will be many requests for these files
Jazkal
Good Idea cool.gif
SiMoNsAyS
sure. sticky!
tbone587
how do I slipstream the tcpip.sys file into my xp sp2 cd? what is the process to get that file on and replace it with the current one on the disc?
Alanoll
modpe it to correct any checksum error.....
modifype tcpip.sys -c (modifype.exe obtained from unattended.msfn.org)
then makecab the file
makecab tcpip.sys

then copy and replace the original
tbone587
thanks for the info. IM not required to disable wfp as well am I?

No, no need to disable WFP if you have replaced the TCPIP.SYS at source (I386) - since WFP can't restore an original MS version of it even if it wants to.

Any help hacking tcpip.sys for v 5.1.2600.2179?

Denney
Good work on putting this together. thumbup.gif

For the tcpip.sys file, if anyone is searching for the original thread on this, here it is here:

http://www.msfn.org/board/Win-XP-SP2-limit-maximu-t22640.html

Note: Towards the end, the unlimited version of the file is available (same as the one here though, I think).

Sure. Just send me the file and I'll try to edit so it's unlimited. whistling.gif

Yep, the one posted here is exactly the same as the one there.

PM sent. thaNX.

I suppose just dropping file version 5.1.2600.2180 in there might cause more harm than good, eh?

Got the PM and replied newwink.gif

You could always try the file version 5.1.2600.2180. I doubt it would really do any damage and it would probably work since it's just 1 build different, but I'll just patch your one anyway whistling.gif

Check the first post for the untested reg patch.
Question is: Do I need the 0x part before the eight numbers? (after dword:

Does the modifyPE program also change the CRC for TCPIP.SY_ so I don't have to be interrupted during install. I know it does this for the uxtheme.dl_, but what about TCPIP.SY_?
prathapml
Yes, it sets right the CRC in the header for tcpip.sys as well - and for any other file you might use it for.

You'll get links to already modified/CRC-modified tcpip.sy_ in this thread, so that you don't need to spend time re-doing what many others have done before you.
Denney
@canucherfan: FYI, and to expand on prathapml's post, ModifyPE changes the CRC header on the TCPIP.SYS file and not the TCPIP.SY_ file.

Any file that ends with .**_ is the compressed version, you need to expand it before you can modify the PE header (CRC). tongue.gif
prathapml
Thanx for filling in on what I missed out smile.gif - sometimes one makes too many assumptions about what is implied...... and assumptions, as you all know, is never good.

Hi!

Could you guys tell me if there is a hacked termsrv.dll available for the SP2 final (2180) ?

Also ... would this work for a German Windows too ?

Thanks for your help !
Bye,
Alex

See the first few posts... There's a surplus of that really, you are having links to pre-hacked and cabbed files, which you can simply drop into your I386 folder on CD.

QUOTE

Yes, sure....
See the detailed page here - TCPIP.SYS patching.
midiboy
Hi prathapml,

sorry for my redundant posts, I did read the first post in this thread but I was not sure if those files were for the final version.

Thanks,
Alex

this is a great work tongue.gif

Wow. I just had a look at the first post. You've done a great job nolookingca, thanks! smile.gif
