Are the files in:
http://cheater.freeprohost.com/MSFN/hacked_files.zip
up-to-date?
What I mean: is tcpip.sy_ the unlimited one?

Update:Zaheer's file pack and several other things are now included. Major post reformat soon.

I tried Zaheer's file pack and I got errors after I rebooted which prevented anything from loading.

What I did was upgrade to SP2 using this file "WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe"
After it was done, rebooted and went back to the desktop, i rebooted back into safemode and renamed the orginal files with .BAK extension. I then copied the 3 extracted files
sfc_os.dl_
tcpip.sy_
uxtheme.dl_
and renamed them with the .dll and .sys extensions. Placed them in the appropriate folders and when I rebooted I got errors in regards to these 3 files. Couldnt really do anything so I rebooted again in safe mode with the command prompt so I can use the original files again.

yep. the one and only

@ignant: the files are for the CD. use this if you want to use it "normally"

CODE
expand filename.dl_ filename.dll

Then use replacer to replace the file. (www3.telus.net/_replacer)

P.S. I apologize for the confusion

Thanks man.........that worked.
Windows was not happy when it was uncompressed heheheheh
Atleast I know the CDs I made are OK even though it was missing the termsrv.dl_
I wish I would have found that yesterday. I finally got all 4 hacked files, missing that Matrix file for I guess its used during installation. You have that anywhere??? I'll redo my ISO image with those 2 files included. Thanks again
hedger
going to ask a dumb question:

are the hacked files here for use with a simple slipstream SP2 installation, or is it meant for an unattended install?

I tried sticking these files into the prepped ISO and windows claimed that the .sif file has zero value.

Thanks in advance for your comments.
nolookingca
@ignant: I got the termsrv in my version of the files and that's it. Be sure to apply the termsrv reg file (attached to first post) or its not going to work. Again, I apologize for the problems

@hedger: As far as I know, the files should work fine for ever slipstreamed sp2 cd. Just replace the files in i386.
cxxxkies
@hedger

Im also having some error similar to the one you post.. ISO error .sif corrupted then [SourceDisksFiles] and zero "SP2.cab".. sad.gif

dont have any clue.. before i slipstream the sp2 my installer woks fine with all the servicepack and some utilities line norton.. is there any files to be modified?

thanks
nolookingca
better post this in the xp or unattended forums instead of here

P.S. I heard (read) that if you had customizations done to the source of the slipstream (pre-slipstreamed cd) it won't work -- you have to start "clean" and do the customizations after slipstream

but in the setuperr.log im having errors with the four hacked files..

sfc_os.dl_
tcpip.sy_
uxtheme.dl_
termsrv.dl_

saying that sfc errors..

I've red that we can include this files with the installer.. right?
or should I manually extract this file and copy after installation? blushing.gif

thanks.
nolookingca
@cxxxkies: I read somewhere that the logged error is expected, but the thing will work.
Denney
@cxxxkies: It should say that the files have no digital signature and also that they were NOT able to replaced. If it says that, then your OK.

Those errors are to be expected.
cxxxkies
Thanks every one.. thumbup.gif

got another inquiry.. Im having problem in slipstreaming NAV CE 7.x
in my SP1 installation it goe's smoothly.. anyone encounter this issue?

Ive red a thread before regarding this having issue with SP2 but I cannot find it anymore.. im lost! blushing.gif

angel.gif
prathapml
Yes, it does have some problems with XPSP2 - you've got to use the latest update - which is available only to SAV9 CE. So move to it....

SP2 updatings

Let's get back on topic please....

If you don't know what you need them for, then you probably don't need them. The files all go to different places depending on what they're intended for. For example both my and nolookingca's Slipstream packs are meant to be integrated straight to the i386 folder of your XP SP2 CD.

If you dont know how the files work and where to put them..
read from page 1 and you will find all the answers you need.. angel.gif

BTW, I wasn't very clear on how to replace the files if you're doing it on a installed sp2 system so here is it:

use
CODE
expand filename.xx_ filename.xxx
on all the files
and then search your windows directory for the files. There should be 3 copies for each file. Don't worry if you only have one copy. Then use Replacer: http://www3.telus.net/_/replacer/ to replace all the files. Read the replacer readme file first! Remember: These files are for Windows XP Service Pack 2 Final (Build 2180) ONLY! Make sure you expanded the files before you replace them or things can get a bit messy.

YOU MUST USE TERMSRV.REG IN COMBINATION WITH THE TERMSRV FILE OR IT WILL NOT WORK!

Hi all,

I m new and m eager to learn. I m still not too confident of doing this, pls guide me along.

For an id*** like me, i wana make my slipstream process easy with the hacked files:

My understanding asf:
1) download SP2 and extract it to a folder.
2) download nolookingca's hacked files pack at the bottom of his first post.
3) Extract the hacked files and copy them to SP2/i386 to replace the original.
4) Slipstream the hacked SP2/i386 with WinXP.
5) Burn as bootable CD.
6) Installing new WinXP SP2.
7) after installation, Download the reg patch to use in combination with termsrv.dll.

Pls correct me if i m wrong.
nolookingca
Here's what I do, correct me if I'm wrong:

1) Slipstream SP2 with XP
2) Download hacked files.
3) Apply hacked files by copying it over to the i386 folder
4) Customize if you want
5) Burn CD
6) Apply reg patch

NOTE: If you're creating a unattended CD, you can apply the reg patch from cmdlines.txt. Otherwise, just apply the reg patch after install.

ell_o2003

I just meant the usual unattended stuff. biggrin.gif
--------------------------------------------------
@ell_o2003:
Step 1) extract it by running this command:

CODE
expand filename.sy_ filename.sys

Step 2)
if you're creating a cd, just overwrite the file in the i386 folder. Otherwise, search for it in your windows folder and replace all the files you find (should be around 3 or less) with this program: www3.telus.net/_/replacer

what would i expand the file with (do I do it in a dos prompt) or couldnt I just use zaheers hacked filed which look expanded.
nolookingca
sorry for being slow to respond; yes, you do it at the dos prompt.

While most of my files are from Zaheer's pack, the orginal (Zaheer's) is missing several files.

and how essential is the reg patch

Can someone upload the tcpip.sys file. The link in this thread is down.

Hacked Files That I Need For a Slipstreamed Unattended CD
These files are for SP2 Final (Build 2180)

For the files (excluding the reg patch), download my hacked files pack at the bottom of this post.

1) sfc_os.dll (to disable Windows File Protection) http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...ndpost&p=161269

2) uxtheme.dll (for using custom themes) http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=23589&st=0
Direct Download: See next post

1) Are you aware the sfc_os.dll in your hacked_files zipfile is not the same as the sfc_os.dll mentioned in that thread you mention? I thought you referred to that thread becasue the file there should be supposedly the same as the one in hacked_files.zip? (http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=23587&view=findpost&p=161269]http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...ndpost&p=161269)
2) uxtheme.dll in your hacked_files.zip is not the same file as the one put in "Direct Download: See next post"

I'm confused all these files differ..are you sure the files in hacked_files.zip are the right ones? How can they all differ? Thanks for any reply.
orson_pl
hello ...

great work witch this files .... i'm gona try this today ... but i have question ...
i'm allready have sp1 unattend and i'm gona add sp2 to it ... i'm using xplode runing in t-13 [from svcpack.inf] can i add reg part from this point ?? or earlier/later ?? btw. which point is best for installing stuff ??

regards
nolookingca
@newuser: the patch is only required if you want to use the termsrv file.

@]Bonkers[: download the file pack at the bottom of the first post. The direct links are only for if you want the files seperately. Please note that you need to download the attached reg file too if you want to use the termsrv file.

@morgoth: they're different because I used better compression.

@orson_pl: I don't think it really matters where you load the reg file. However, you might want to apply it with your other reg tweaks.

Note: Always overwite the files in i386.
morgoth
nolookingca: i'm talkin about the UNCOMPRESSED files ofcourse..they do differ so i still dont understand.

The reason i'm trying this hacked tcpip.sys in the first place are the 'No buffer space' available messages mirc gives me after some a few hours after I installed SP2. My FTPclient tells me Connection failed (10055:No buffer space available) then and all internet access is gone. I can't even initialize taskmanager after that. Shutting down most of the stuff i'm running 'solves' this but of course this is not acceptable. It used to happen with SP1 as well but only after a much longer time like 2/3 weeks. I really need a solution to this and the solution is NOT to quit down on network connections or applications I run. It must be some changed settings or system files which is causing this. Any comments are much appreciated.
morgoth
Oh i should have added i have more than enough (free) memory (1 Gb) when this problem starts occuring.
morgoth
Having installed the tcpip.sys from the hacked_files.zip doesn't solve my problem btw. So it must be other SP2 modifications which are the cause :-(

I dont think rolling back to SP1 will be any real solution cause SP2 is needed because of all fixes included in it. I would much prefer to know what changed with respect to this error and just change that back to SP1 state.

If anyone know anything please help cause it's driving me crazy.
scankurban
Can I add termsrv.reg file to setupreg.hiv or Hivesys.inf?

<snip>

I'm running with an unhacked tcpip.sys system with SP2 applied for a while now w/o any FTP problems. It's probably a program issue or some system problem.
What FTP program do you use? I'm using SmartFTP on a system with a unhacked tcpip.sys file without any problems.

P.S. The file difference might be because of the ModifyPE headers I applied so that Setup doesn't complain when used on a CD.

@scankurban: You probably can, but you might need to get help in the unattended forums since I have no experience what-so-ever with the hive files.
SovereignScorn
Well, I was working on my s*** all week, and I found out that patching your ntoskrnl with a custom boot screen on the cd is a bad idea...
DisabledTrucker
Ok, let me see if I get this right, I:

1. Download the kit from the bottom of the first post.
2. Extract the ".**_ " files to the XPCD\i386 folder.
3. Put the termsrv.reg file in my XPCD\$OEM$\$1\Install folder
4. Call the termsrv.reg file in my CMDLINES.TXT file at the end of the installations.

This would be correct for doing it as an Unattended Setup from CD, correct? This would also keep me from having to place these files in my XPCD\$OEM$\$$\System32 and ~\System32\dllcache folder correct? If this is so, I am going to make an installer that will place these files where they need to go on an UXPCD, so next time I wont have to guess at it.
