UPDATE:
DisabledTrucker has uploaded a copy:
QUOTE (DisabledTrucker @ Feb 3 2006, 05:02 PM)

Okay, I've uploaded the file to
RapidUpload for you all, also if you go to
RyanVM's site, you can find updated SFC_OS.dll which no longer needs the .reg file to work, you can also find an updated uxtheme.dll file and the updated version of tcpip.sys as well. If you're wanting it updated to work with
Pyrons Method, I've made an addon for it too at the same place, you'll also find my addon for this there too, as soon as I get it posted... Hope this helps everyone!

Thanks for the possibly only surviving copy, DisabledTrucker (a copy that managed to outlast my own

)
EDIT: Just so I don't lose it again and have to beg DisabledTrucker, here's another link, just in case:

The List looks good for now...I'm sure there'll be more.

Here is my list:
sfc_os.dll (to disable Windows File Protection)
uxtheme.dll (for using custom themes)
tcpip.dll (to allow more than only 10 connections per port, now allows unlimited)
termsrv.dll (to allow for concurrent sessions)
winntbbu.dll (cool Matrix setup screen)

Aug 8 2004, 10:55 AM
D'oh! I knew I forgot something.
BTW, any "less Matrix-like" screens and login you can recommend?
As for the termsrv.dll, I don't need it, but it'll be good to have.

Anyone care to post links to files? Maybe a zip with all of them easy for others and myself to find.

How can you be certain that the above is a "clean" file - I mean, that it is not maliciously embedded with anything by the person who made it?
As for termsrv.dll, will the concurrent sessions work even if you use an RC1/RC2 build-based file, or does it work *ONLY* with build 2055?

I think 2055 or lower
As for the other issue, some people have used it without problem or use this more limited, but probably good as it has a manual version:
http://www.lvllord.de/index2.htmSince with the manual version lots of people can critisize....

Because I hex edited that myself and tested it. I've even posted that I used
this method to patch the tcpip.sys file. If you don't trust me, do it yourself using that method but don't just accuse people of things you don't know about
Sorry if I came across as too suspicious.
I was just asking questions that anyone would like to know before using something on their production systems.
In any case, what you have carried out seems to be done perfectly fine. Thanks for pointing me to the site which contains instructions to do the same manually myself.

modpe it to correct any checksum error.....
modifype tcpip.sys -c (modifype.exe obtained from unattended.msfn.org)
then makecab the file
makecab tcpip.sys
then copy and replace the original

No, no need to disable WFP if you have replaced the TCPIP.SYS at source (I386) - since WFP can't restore an original MS version of it even if it wants to.

Good work on putting this together.
For the tcpip.sys file, if anyone is searching for the original thread on this, here it is here:
http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=22640Note: Towards the end, the unlimited version of the file is available (same as the one here though, I think).

I suppose just dropping file version 5.1.2600.
2180 in there might cause more harm than good, eh?

Got the PM and replied
You could always try the file version 5.1.2600.
2180. I doubt it would really do any damage and it would probably work since it's just 1 build different, but I'll just patch your one anyway

Does the modifyPE program also change the CRC for TCPIP.SY_ so I don't have to be interrupted during install. I know it does this for the uxtheme.dl_, but what about TCPIP.SY_?
prathapml
Aug 12 2004, 03:11 AM
Yes, it sets right the CRC in the header for tcpip.sys as well - and for any other file you might use it for.
You'll get links to already modified/CRC-modified tcpip.sy_ in this thread, so that you don't need to spend time re-doing what many others have done before you.
Denney
Aug 12 2004, 07:05 AM
@canucherfan: FYI, and to expand on prathapml's post, ModifyPE changes the CRC header on the TCPIP.SYS file and not the TCPIP.SY_ file.
Any file that ends with .**_ is the compressed version, you need to expand it before you can modify the PE header (CRC).

Could you guys tell me if there is a hacked termsrv.dll available for the SP2 final (2180) ?
Also ... would this work for a German Windows too ?
Thanks for your help !

See the first few posts... There's a surplus of that really, you are having links to pre-hacked and cabbed files, which you can simply drop into your I386 folder on CD.
