Is anyone else as not excited about HL2 as I am? I think that it's hyped up so much that it's going to be a letdown when it's finally released.

I really do hope I'm wrong, I love a good FPS just like any other geek with blood flowing thru his veins, but I guess I just havnen't caught the HL2 excitement like everyone else.... confused.gif

I guess I'm just not expecting it to be spectacular and groundbreaking, and revolutionary like everyone is hyping it up to be.

oh its going to be great, trust me on that. newwink.gif

BUT, i think it will probably be a bit short, like Max payne was.. awesome game, but over too quick.

we shall see!

i love this game! laugh.gif
well i agree maybe it's going to short although exciting but for me the strongest point is the MultiPlayer so let's wait to CS...

See the whole thing about games is not to get excited. I used to get excited and have that big let down, then I learned hey dont get excited ... It has worked so far, well except for those instances I forgot about the game I got excited about and probably lost out on a good game. Oh well saved some money biggrin.gif
magicfly
short...oh no! confused.gif

i was so excited when i was playing call of duty, but it was too short...wonderful but short...i only hope it's a bit longer whistling.gif
FthrJACK
yes COD is another.. awesome game, but lasted me a whole 2 days or something.

yeah this is probably the main reason i'm not getting my hopes up. I don't want to be dissapointed. But I will admit....I got a AIW 9800 pro just incase it's cool newwink.gif

I think I'll have to get just to see how my video card takes it...seeing as how it's optimized for ati.... thumbup.gif

i doubt it takes more resources/hardware than d3 took. i can play d3 at 1024x768, high specs (without antialiasing) thumbup.gif

doom 3 is not a cpu hog though thumbup.gif
even CS:S is about 50% CPU and 50% GPU
Alanoll
the Doom 3 graphics engine is more intensive on my system then the Source engine is. I tried to equal the settings between the games, and the Doom 3 just runs my system into the ground. (mind you it's a laptop). CS:S I get on average 60-70 FPS which isn't that bad considering the GPU i have is a RADEON 9600 MOBILITY.

Well I say this much, my friend got to play test for his company and he had to change his pants.

I'm looking forward to HL2 but I'm looking forward more to what people might do with the engine over the next couple of years (in the same way as HL1 was a great game, then someone invented Counter Strike smile.gif)

HeHe, Sorry, thats just how I feel. and here is another less opinionated reason Why:

The graphics look good, and I havent played it, but I hated the first, and the secound is just the first with better graphics and a few new elements.

I was stocked on getting Doom 3 the first day it was available, but it got old quick for me and I have no more enthusiasm to actually finish the game but the graphics are sweet.
