There's several very nice projects by MSFN members and I'd like to thank them for all their great work. There's nice guides, tutorials, forum threads about the specifics of each, and that is very nice.

However, I'm kinda stuck with something. I'm not 100% sure which ones work fine together or not. What I'm mainly referring to: nLite, XPCREATE, Bâshrat the Sneaky's driver packs, RyanVM's update packs, Gosh's source reduction method.

I'd like to hear about some people that use some together, or that know for a fact using one will conflict with another... Perhaps I missed some newbie reading on this?

For example, would adding the driver packs and RyanVM's updates, then nLite'ing the disc, and then using the source reduction work at all? ... Or if it all works but something has to be done specifically after another.

Thanks in advance for clearing things up!

[edit]
nLite alone so far worked fine;
-Looks like RyanVM's updates can be applied by nLite (I'll try again!)
-Looks like nLite has to be done before adding the driver packs
-Looks like BTS' driver packs should be added after nLite

So right now I'm up to trying nLite again, stripping some junk off, addind ATI/nVidia drivers with it, RyanVM's full update pack, then adding BTS driver packs (all 3). We'll see if it works laugh.gif If it's not broke, then I'll try the source reduction trick, see if it finally breaks it.

crahak, surest way to know - is to do it yourself, lol. Since we do not all use the tools available here. MSFN is too vast!

That said, snippets from my experiences:
Always keep Gosh's source reduction method as the final thing you do.
yes, nLite can make use of RyanVM's packs.
After running nLite, use Bashrat's driver-pack(s).

XPCREATE - never used it (since I do it all manually, and have no need for a tool), no idea!

what else?
Oh yes, XPlode is usable anytime (independant of what else you did/not did). Same is the case with WIHU. I use XPlode for winxp/2k3, and WIHU for win2k unattended installs.

huh.gif Say, you're one of those old thread digging persons? newwink.gif

Thanks for the reply. I pretty much had to find it all out by myself. I used nLite with RyanVM's update pack, then BTS driver packs plus a few more. Gosh's source reduction... Don't really need it anyways, and I never even peeked at XPCREATE...

I never bothered editing my post again, thinking nobody would bother digging this deep - guess I was wrong! laugh.gif

1. Hardly 2 weeks have passed since this thread was posted.
2. It really is a good idea, to post your own findings in your thread, if your question is not needed to be answered anymore.
