My Canon i470D has an *.inf file.
I install this like any other driver,
by placing its path in the WINNT.SIF file as follows:

CODE
[Unattended]
   OemPnPDriversPath="drivers\CANON;drivers\nvidia"

I leave the printer turned on during the installation of windows
and when windows is ready to use for the 1st time
so is my printer.
