Because I can not install better notepad and 256-bit try

I wrote an installation guide.

Please write your Notepad and Explorer version. (To find your Explorer version: Open Windows Explorer, go \Windows directory, right-click on Explorer.exe, and select Properties).

SP 2.0 Beta 3/RC1 doesn't support this version of explorer. I'll fix this problem on the final version.

But Better Notepad feature should work.

Did you install any previous version of SP (like 1.6?)

I install only Service Pack 2.0RC

I have windows 98 version 4.10.2222

Better Notepad and 256-color tray icons features are automatically installed by SP. So, you should have better Notepad now.

Did you check Notepad? Better Notepad only adds new keyboard shortcuts. For example, CTRL+F for Find, CTRL+O for Open. If you have these shortcuts, it means that you have better Notepad. Please, check it again.

And I fix this problem with Explorer. I install Explorer.exe v4.72.3110.1

now you got same explorer version as me

hmmm, weird.

Explorer.exe version 4.72.3612.1700 worked fine on my Win98 SE system. That file came from the ie4shl95.cab file of IE 5.x Desktop Update. Unofficial W98SE SP v1.62
worked good with that explorer version. Maybe in 2.0 final it should work.
