Does microsoft suck for you?
You hate them no end?
take a look - Microsuck

Found this place to be incredibly interesting and fun. Simply because of all their assumptions built on the base that microsoft simply HAS to be evil no matter what they do. This place will make you see darkness in day light! crazy.gif
Post your comments newwink.gif

I like how they assume that casue we have a MS related Forum that we all love Windows and hate linux.
I dont think we have one debate stating that Windows is the best and linux sux.

If anything this forum was created to educate people about the ins and outs of MS related problems and how to fix and solve these issues.
We have created tools to make windows more versitile and user orinted...maybe if they looked into stuff like nlite and our reduction tools they would understand what this site is about....

I for one support both MS products and open sorce things such as Linux. I run both and use many applications on sorceforge...

Anywho i know i for one wont be joining their forum and trolling....i dont wish to sink to that lvl.
If people wish to use one thing over another let it be up to them

prathapml
Exactly. I agree.
And they seem to, as well - since most of those posting in that thread are saying basically the same as what you said (that they will not join here just to troll around and expound their philosophy). But still, I'll be left wondering which of the new members who join after today and rant, are going to be from Microsuck.

Funny thing is........ I found them for us, and they found us at approximately the same time. huh.gif

Also, hate is a great leveller. Take a look at their home page. Designed just like Microsoft's. And these are the ones hating them? blink.gif

Man I can't stand wait to join them and tell them to f|_|ck off!!! newwink.gif but as Drewdatrip mentioned, you'd better not lower yourself to that level!

One thing they always seem to forget in their Open Source propaganda is the fact THAT THEY CANNOT PLAY GAMES... mwoehahahaha *EVIL LAUGH*

Except for Unreal Tournament once and every while tongue.gif

@AfterDawn
arrr.... newwink.gif
Keep in mind that a huge linux supporter is here! (hint: me) And its not bad at all - nor is Microsoft.
And its a mis-conception that linux lacks games - any number of perfectly good 3D games exist. And yes, they are as big/good as those for win32 platform. I've been on linux personally and commercially since years, and its been a great decision from any angle. And I don't hate MS, you know that as well, from my presence at msfn.

Point is, linux is very good and so is windows. Anyone that hates the other, or forces you to convert to use the other, needs a re-look at his own strategy. Introducing you to use something new is fine, forcing you to NOT use what you are comfortable with, is not. And this sort of approach where crowds of anti-Microsoft people jump on you and force you to move simply because they hate MS, it absolutely is not right.

That bothersome phenomenon (of attacking you), is called militant open source evangelism (of which that forum is an example).
I'll let this quote say it best:
QUOTE
THE BASTARD CHILD OF THE HERO

And while on the general waters of misanthropy, I also dislike militant open source evangelism, so quit waving your yellow flags already. I am all for the ‘OSS revolution’. But newly converted f***tards just have to make it their business to tell me how much good their s*** is, and how I am Bill Gates b***h because I use Windows XP to play my games, which he doesn’t yet have an answer for, not yet anyways.

I have a friend. He installs Linux, runs stuff on it, experiments with it, and generally tells people how good that makes him feel. That is a good thing. He is not sitting on forum boards replacing MS with M$ and telling everyone why they have to use ONLY firefox.

On the other hand are people you meet once in a while who just thrust their f***ed up browsers or email clients on my face, and tell me its good because its open source. f***ing hippies. They don’t even know the first thing about the open source movement. There are people wasting their sweat and blood for no monetary gains just so you have a choice, and these hippies just give them a bad name. Its not about sticking it to Bill Gates. Its about everyone having a choice, of having the power to switch to something more stable, and feature rich, if they want to. I use Opera and Eudora. They are by no means open source, or even free. But they are way better than all the options I have tried, including open source stuff, and more importantly demonstrate my exercise of choice. As long as you know and respect that, I’ll hear your case. But if all you want to do is smoke pot and make sex noises insiniuating how M$ is screwing the world, I suggest you move your sorry a** out of my face.
Now who wants to post the above in microsuck? If you're looking to get back at them, you have a cool way already (the above quote). lol

I must admit this post is sensible:
QUOTE (Aloone_Jonez)
..........
......  The best way to make people see that Microsoft is bad is to be nice to them, if someone gets the idea that Linux users are all bastards then they'll think “Microsoft's never rude to me but the Linux bunch are a load of f***heads.”

WARNING: If you're not 18, don't read the above chunks of quotes. It was posted purely for informative purposes, and is not meant to offend anyone.
Please do not close this topic, for its getting perfectly sane posts and is not out of control.

Nice quotes!

Actually I also like Linux (I have to work with it now for about 4 months...for a programming project at my work) and I also see the advantages... however I just hate their attitude. Their site looks likes it built upon Hate and Anger, while our site seems to be just informative and helpfull. We don't call this site www.linustorvalds-sucks-cock.com either do we? no.gif

I cannot say I embrace all Microsoft products but I dig!

I'm really sick and tired of hearing some of my technician complaining about Microsoft products. I will dig into Linux someday but for now there is this list of thing holding me back:

1- To many Distributions!!! Which one do you choose? How do a corporate choose?
2- To many packages! Which one do you install 4Go of stuff on each distribution, that's way to much
3- Too many changes! Kernel, Device drivers, applications, etc.
4- Harder to learn for the average user
5- How can I live without Photoshop, GigaStudio, + MY GAMES!!!

Phew... that felt good!

Keep in mind that if Linux had 90% of the market, we would find a LOT of flaws and Security Problems probably even greater than what we have in Microsoft OS.

Well, I would rather say that neither of them are good ... I consider both to be a "work in progress", the only difference is that the Linux guys have never actually claimed that Linux is a finished product, Microsoft has... I think that annoys quite a few people ...

I personally run both Linux and Windows on my boxes and I must say that for the average everyday job I prefer Windows... It's as one of my Linux'ish friends told me; Linux, do half as much in twice the time ... rolleyes.gif

Anyway, aren't we all forgetting something? ... Mac OS X?

I don't think so... I cannot install MAC OS X directly on my PC since it require special hardware. I know it can be done under simulation but you still need a Windows or Linux system underneath... And the whole debate stays, yes Photoshop will work but not my games and GigaStudio.
zolookas
I use both OS'es, but i would never create anti-ms site, because it's your choise which OS you want to use.
I think Windows advantages are:
1. Compactibility with devices (lots of drivers) (All my devices are working properly on linux...).
2. Lot's of games for windows only (Cedega can run some games on linux (like battlefield2, world of warcraft and etc. if you want to know more visit they'r website). Wine and cross over office can run many windows apps too like Photoshop smile.gif).
Linux/Unix advantages:
1. Open-source (if i don't like something, i can always change it) (That doesn't mean there's no open source apps for windows, but almost everything in linux is opensource).
2. It has great apps (i don't know why some people thinks that there's no good apps for linux) witch runs faster (you can argue with me, but simple console app worked twise faster than in windows) (There's 64bit windows versions, but there are separate linux distros whitch are optimized for different platforms).
3. Cool package management systems (apt-get, emerge, etc) whitch makes software installing much easier than in windows (I don't think microsoft will ever do such thing for windows, but it would be cool smile.gif).
Windows disadvantages:
1. Registry and other trash. This thing slows windows and i need to reinstall it again (don't say you never had to reinstall windows because it began to run slow or etc.).
2. Mallware (spyware, adware, viruses, trojans...) tons of these. Some programs like kazaa, dap, flashget installs spyware.
3. Stability. Server running windows hung every day, but when we switched it to linux there's no problems.
Linux disadvantages:
1. Lack of 3D games.
2. Programs like wine, cedega, cross over office won't run every windows app or game.
3. Ease of use depends on distribution. You can have nice gui mandriva installer and surf the web without many problems.
4. You still need to know some bash commands. If your device is not automaticaly mounted you need to use command line to do that, or edit fstab to suit your needs smile.gif
5. Too much distros, but i've chosen mine.

First off you guys are just being dumb. Secondly, Microsuck (formerly f***microsoft.com) has been around for quite a while.

The site contains a good amount of junk and unfair bias against Microsoft, but they do have some good points. Microsoft has been known for their dirty business practices, unwanted bundling of software (I'm so glad Nuni wrote nLite) and general distrust after the nature of the hidding index.dat records were discovered.

Linux quite good. Windows much better.
Skyfrog
On my main computer I run Windows. I find it's best for gaming and just general use because it really is easier to use and it supports practically everything in the way of hardware. On my older computer I run Solaris 10, which is really nice, secure and stable but is still somewhat lacking in hardware support. I've used Windows since 3.0 so yeah I suppose you could say I "dig it". smile.gif

I'v been on microsuk.com sometimes because I had something to say about M$, but these guys are realy narrow-minded. Only thing they will tell you is to erase windows ad install Linucks.

There you will be called an a.s.s as long as you don't instal Linux. Don't go there if you are on M$ Windows or don't say you are.
These poeple are radicals!

I hate Microsoft purely because I don't think its healthy for the computer industry to have one company dominating it, but I also dislike Linux zealots who try to enforce a revolution on everyone.

I don't see why people always think pro-Windows = anti-Linux and pro-Windows = anti-Linux.

I'm pro-Linux, pro-Mac and pro-BSD.

I don't have a problem with Windows itself, it runs quite well if you can tame it right (NT is quite a technically advanced OS) I suppose I do hate the Win 9x series though.

Anyway I hope I'm not trolling, I just found this forum from Google, and didn't know if I'd be welcome due to my dislike of Microsoft, so ban me if you wish.

Certifications have nothing to do with liking Microsoft or not. I know a guy that is the most FANBOY in the world for NetBSD, FreeBSD and some Linux Distros, tottaly hates Microsoft and Windows, and has the most complete curriculum of Microsoft. MCSA, +M and +S; MCSE, +M and +S.

Why?

Because if he only had LPI (Linux Professional Institue) and Linux + from CompTIA he would not have a job.

About Windows being compatible with everything, well ... I think its the other way around. (Things are made thinking of Windows)

PC parts, for example, have they drivers done for Windows. Most of PC parts manufacters dont make Linux Drivers. Linux could be as compatible as Windows if the big guys made drivers (drivers is just an example) for it.

Bubye.

P.S: I am not defending Linux. I am tottaly a Windows Fanboy. But Im not blind, as most of Linux Fanboys.

I have a real love-hate relationship with MS. As an MSFT stock holder, their stock has been stagnant for the last ~5 years, which means I'm not making money off them (of course, I made a boatload off them in the mid to late 90s, but that's beside the point tongue.gif), which of course annoys me. As a user of their products, their software can be a royal pain in the arse some times. But at the same time, I have no desire to find many replacements for their software because what they make for the most part "just works".

Actually I dissagree, I think it's fair enough voicing an opinion and providing a reason behind it but it's another thing not respecting other people's opinions and forcing your idea on everyone. I hate Microsoft, I hate oil companies, I hate supermarkets, I hate it that we don't have a choice but to use Windows (if we want all our hardware to work properly). I don't have a problem with people liking Windows, I just wish the averge Joe knew about operating systems and realised that they might prefer using an alternative to Windows without having the issue of hardware support to cloud their judgement.
Thunderbolt 2864
Like Windows, but I hate Microsoft. Their policies are crap and I think they are overdoing it these days. For example, this WGA crap they are implementing. Stupid.

mac os x doesn't require any special hardware at all. as far as i know it does require a SSE2 cpu, but if your computer has been manufactured in the past few years you likely fall into that category.

i have out of the box support in osx for SATA, ethernet, sound & video on my intel box. i didn't buy anything special to be compatible with it, and more drivers are emerging every day.

the only thing required 'underneath' is a mac formatted partition as the first partition on your drive. and of course you don't need an existing operating system to create that partition, a bootdisk will suffice. i even run linux + xp alongside my mac osx 10.4.3

mac ran on intel -long- before windows ran on mac

I do agree with the above poster, and it would be nice if microsoft would support the "open document" standard, I do not want to tell microsoft that they should, by the same tocan I do not exepect any objections from microsoft (or any other vendor) to government's requiring adherance to this or any royalty free standard. I imagine it should be relatively easy for MS to write a plugin for this format as it has done for many other document formats, if they want to keep the business.

btw, I use primarily linux, I do use windows for playing my old games from time to time and I have turned of the network in windows so I do not have any problems with updates and the inevitable reboot or mallware that might come from the internet. So it could be that I am biased.....
