Then, assuming that the area of the image he created is proportional to the time he spent making it, that would mean that it should have taken him circa 10.3 seconds to create his avatar? Am I wrong?

Yup. Took me all of 1.26657 times the square root of pie to get it from a site. The avatar is still a work in progress.

Well, that's just a number. It can be applied with anything. Milliseconds? Seconds? Minutes? Hours? Days? Years? Decades? Centuries? Millenia? You get the point.

Once you learn the basics, you can create little gems like mine in no time at all. It took me over an hour to do my first.

I'm not as quick a learner as you are so it'll probably take me a bit longer, any advice or sites for tutorials?
@homiebrah - do you mind if i use ur image but just take the text and polar bear out of it? (i want to stick a wolf in there) and i will always give credit to you whenever displaying it.

It really looks nice, but cannot see what you made. I can see that the mountains and the bear are not your creation, but what did you do to have it look like this. Please tell me. Very curious. @ Wolf: I will make you 1 if you want me 2.
