Hi all,

I replaced my shell32.dll on the windows xp cd with another shell32.dll.
my modded file is 40 mb, and the normal windows file is about 8...

when i install and start windows and look in the system32 dir i see this shell32.dll from 8 mb????

can anyone help please

nvm i already found the problem

ok i thought i found the problem, but i didn't

when i view the iso image i see my modded shell32.dll

but when installed i see 3 x shell32.dll

1 x 8 mb in %windir%system32 folder
1 x 40 mb in %windir%Lastgood.Tmp folder
1 x 8 mb in %windir%$hf_mig$ folder

can anyone help me out please!

did you do windows update?

ehm, i integrated some hotfixes?

yes, theres a hotfix that overwrites the shell32.dll file
