All the tasks showed
CODE
This program has performed an illegal operation
box.
Even Run32.dll, Explorer etc.
It was even difficult to shut down my PC...

I think I was clicking too fast to shut down Maxthon.

with win 98 you gotta slow down as it really can't keep up.

Are you overclocking your processor? If you are, it's unstable. Time to give it a Vcore boost!

-that's funny, my win98se absolutely screams no matter what I do, instant reactions, not a chance of clicking/etc too fast for it... (and it's just a celeron 1.8ghz)
-now, winXP, on the other hand...lol... there's nothing I CAN do quickly on that hog, always waiting on the dam OS, every step of the way... and that puter has a 3.0ghz!
lol

(sry, couldn't resist.... tongue.gif )
..
ps: -only time I've seen win98se slow at all, is on VERY old puter, evil Compaq Presario 500mhz... with old slow HD's...

(but don't wanna start up THAT old side-thread again...)

Thanks PsycoUnc, that's exactly how I feel and how everybody here fells. smile.gif

I posted this to point out that such problem is highly exceptional since I installed sp2.
It didn't happend anymore.

I had some freezing up also when trying to copy the tracks of a damaged audio-cd with CDex, but I think the software was working very very slowly rather than properly crashing.
