I did have Win 98SE OS but went to Me because I needed Excel installed on my system. When I tried to install the Excel program a message said that a newer OS version needed to be installed. So, I installed Win Me so that I could get Excel to work. I have had nothing but trouble from security breakdowns, unwanted popups, computer locking up, and numerous errors. I wish I could start over from scratch using Win 98SE and have Excel. I need Excell to work because I have a Palm pda that requires an Excel program. Can anyone out there help me find a solution?

Which version of Excel is it?
Is it part of office 2003?
Versions "should" be the following:
8.0 for Office 97
9.0 for Office 2000
10.0 for Office XP
11.0 for Office 2003

What exact error does it give?
Look at these:

Also you need an updated Internet Explorer, but not "TOO" updated, read here:

Do you have Excel 2003? Then you cannot install it on Me or 98, try getting Excel 2002 aka Excel XP, that will work on both. read the EULA, i'm unsure, but I think you can take a copy of Excel XP from someone who has it, as long as you have your Excel 2003 copy.
