The
XPCREATE Web Site is back online, and includes the latest version of XPCREATE (18 AUG 2005). XPCREATE is currently available for download directly from the site, with no need for Username or Password.
The Current Hotfixes page has also been updated for Windows XP, and although I have tested this version and these hotfixes myself, any testing and comments would be appreciated.

Current Hotfixes in xpcreate.com, we may not have "SVC-WUA" folder in Feb version, I'm afraid.
PS.
WindowsUpdateAgent20-x86.exe works in SVC-MRT of Feb version.

SVC-WUA is for the 18 AUG 2005 version. I only worry about one version at a time! It should also work in the SVC-MRT directory, but I've not tested. There is a reason it has it's own directory (SVC-WUA) ...

Seems like you may have left some command files or labels out of your install like:
the xpcprvar ???
Previously, these were labels, now they seem to go nowhere???
You will get some posts that it does not work, but they won't know why.

Yes, it produces an XP cd that seems to install fine. I was still using the "old" version up through the August updates. Your program is still the only one from this board that produces a 100% solid CD (for perfectionists). I've tried the current versions of Nlite, HFslip, RyanVM, etc. They are nice for hobbyists but each produces unacceptable variations from what you get by manually installing the same things.

Geez, with such a compliment, there must a request coming !
Just kidding ... and yes, I am a perfectionist. Every option has it's advantages and disadvantages. Most of the other choices are either faster, more compact, or allow easy modification of Microsoft code. Me, I've got a DVD burner, I like to have time for a beer or two during the install, and shoot for that 100% Microsoft acceptable installation. That is not to try and belittle any of the other efforts, they are all good in their own right.
Thanks for getting pack to me. (The old version was OK for XP, but did not pick up the right Windows 2003 SP1 files.)

@Greenmachine,
I saw the new version and downloaded it. Started from beginning and downloaded everything from the xpcreate website. However there are 2 links pointing to the wrong files. If i move the mouse over the HTMCDWizard_enu.exe it downloads the KB890830 hotfix and when moved over the Media player setup file, it points to the WMCSETUP.EXE
Also the setup.exe at the end of the WXPSP2 list is pointing to the dotnetfx.exe.
I will download from Microsoft and let you know if I find more.

This is my 1st time tring it with xphome 4 updates are not working..
KB885836, KB890046, KB890830, KB898461
I have them in the right place as shown on your web site but WU asked me to install them.
also is there a way to stop xphome from using owner as an account name? I put a makeuser.cmd in SVC-EXE but the acount was not made either.

also mp10 .net and highmat did not install.

@BaTLeZone: Sounds odd that there should be so much trouble for Windows 2000. I will not be able to look into it until some time in September, but I am guessing that it is something simple that craps out early on. Perhaps I have trouble with a hotfix or rollup.
@Bitfrotter: Thanks for pointing out the typos. As you may have guessed, those lists are generated, not hand typed. I'll have to look into the generator. In any event, the lists themselves seem to be accurate, even if the links are not.

A glitch indeed ... It seems that DOPATH=YES is in XPCREATE.INI, but XPCREATE does not find any driver directories to add to the OEMPnPDriversPath line in WINNT.SIF. Should not effect the install, but it WILL be cleaned up in the next release. Thanks for pointing it out!
Without meaning to nag ... please attach LOGFILES.CAB, not a RARed file, as I can always open CABs, but am not always on a box that has an RAR extractor.

Thanks. No need for the CAB now, but after XPCREATE finishes, it does leave a LOGFILES.CAB file in the NEWFILES directory. That is simply XPCREATE.LOG compressed.

@Greenmachine,
I am working on a Dutch version and I have almost every update included, but when I go to the Windows Update site it shows a dutch languagepack for the .NET framework. I have downloaded this file but I do not know where to put it, so it gets integrated.
When I run the file with /? it shows that it supports the /Q option to do a silent install. Have you any idea where I can put this file so it gets integrated. I tried in SVC-CF1, but received an error during install.
Everything else is working fine. Keep up the good work. I will also test with Windows Server 2003 and let you know the results. With the previous version I had some problems getting all the updates included.
The Bitfrotter
edit.... I have tried putting it in SVC-HF2 and it did not give an error, however now I have to click to install it. So it is not unattended. I believe this is because only the /Q option is available.

By now I have a complete installation for XP-SP2 UK and Dutch version and I have also created a W2K3 server cdrom. All three have every update slipstreamed. Also the Windows Update files and the genuine check are slipstreamed. I will see if I can do a W2K cd to. I saw a error with renaming a directory during the creation of the W2K3 iso and I will try to give more info on what happens. Maybe you can see about it. Will do this later.

Thanks, Bitfrotter, for doing the testing that I am too pressed for time and resources to do (takes forever on a laptop ... )
As for using Microsoft Update as opposed to Windows Update, that will have to wait until Microsoft creates a hotfix / patch similar to the Windows Update Version 6 thingy.

One option i would like to have in xpcreate.ini is ability not to call :EXPANDCABS
in the script at all.
DOCABS variable from xpcreate.ini is checked in xpcreate.cmd script after extraction of all cabs...
It takes a very long time when building a new CD on my PIII 1GHz 512 Mb 20 Gb 5400 tpm build box to expand all cabs do some checks and optionally repack them.
In most cases, none of the files inside the cabs are upgraded...

Hi GM

Maybe its time to make the xpcreate.cmd of xpcreate into a EXE (you could use this methinks
http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=CMD2EXE&meta=) to stop the ppl blatantly violating the EULA, editing it and moaning all the time. (after seeing the recent threads and plenty of threads/posts in the past)
Mentioned it before

Would it cause problems to the way it works tho?
At least the ini is still there and it'll be used as it should be

@Greenmachine,
I have been working on the W2K version and it has been difficult to get everything working. I will post my list with files later this week but for now I am stuck with the root certificates update. It is in the SVC-HF2 directory and I renamed it to rootsupd.exe but it will not get integrated. when I download it from your website it is called rootsupd_94e9af610087f43b1b637bb5c0e8146.exe.
Have you any idea on what goes wrong. Is it in the wrong directory or should I have not renamed it. Every other update is integrated through your tool.
