Here are some mirrors...just because Tihiy is such a cool guy and I loved RP\RPLite so much when I used it in the past...

RPLite 3:
http://www.zshare.net/download/rplite3-zip.html
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=63YI7AI1
http://www.gimehost.com/iWTMup7edROqhjaiPrTK
http://media6.uploadjar.com/file.php?file=...ads/rplite3.zip
http://www.yourfilelink.com/get.php?fid=74933

RPLite 4:
http://www.zshare.net/download/rplite4-zip.html
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Z0Y2BATD
http://www.gimehost.com/zoChylugZlOMt6j1XVAn
http://www.yourfilelink.com/get.php?fid=74931
http://media6.uploadjar.com/file.php?file=...ads/rplite4.zip

You should be able to get the files from one of these sites at least...

--iWindoze (Never let it be said I never contribute!)

PS: Hey Tihiy! welcome.gif When are we going to see a beginning of a Revolutions Pack for NT5, like promised so long ago now? woot.gif

The Zshare.net sites do not work anymore, iWindoze. they now give Error 404 Not Found message. that means the RPLite3 and RPLite4 downloads are no longer available from Zshare.net.

maybe the RP for NT5 pack will be ready after RP5 for 9xME is done.
erpdude8
I have tested RPLite 4 under Win98se. works great. I'll have to see if it'll work ok under Win98 FE. Different story when trying to use RPLite 4 under WinME. WinME was unbootable. had to restore the original ME files to make the WinME computer work properly again. Guess RPLite works only for Win98 fe/se.
Tihiy
Win98/ME(!) icons update - ofcoz for/from overdelayed Vista RPLite5

Provided files to support colorful images in:
- Add/Remove windows components
- Network applet
- Device Manager
- Add Hardware
Better to have 98SE2ME installed if installing in 98.

I use Borland Resource Workshop 4.5 (released in 1994) for 16-bit files, because it can add icons.

you mean MS06-015 for Win98, Tihiy? it wont be available at windows update until the middle of May or June. microsoft has yet to even make the MS06-015 patches for 98/ME systems.

btw - RPLite4 does work under Win98 FE as I have tested it for myself. after it replaced the kernel32.dll file with the v4.10.2225 version, Win98 identified itself as version 4.10.2222 instead of 4.10.1998.

I mean MS06-015 for WinME. Because it must bring newer shell32.dll, which will be re-hacked.

Anyway. Currently i'm porting RPLite to Xeno86' Kernel Update engine.
It must make life happier.

ok. like with MS06-015 for 98, the ME version of MS06-015 is not yet available until the middle of May or June. I just hope MS06-015 for Win98/ME does not turn out to be like what happened to MS05-002 [KB891711] for Win98/ME.

The RPLite4 package did work okay under both Win98FE and Win98SE. I wished there would be an RPLite4 pack just for WinME systems. when I used the RPLite4 package under WinME, it made my WinME machine unbootable. had to use a WinME boot disk and restored the original WinME files to get things back to normal. I noticed the RPLite pack had v4.10.2225 of kernel32.dll file. I think that's what caused my ME machine to be unbootable; it replaced the ME version of kernel32.dll with the 98se version. If there was going to be an RPLite pack just for WinME, perhaps it should contain a modded v4.90.3000 of the kernel32.dll file.

These are very beautiful. Can you make an icon patcher for XP\2k?
Tihiy
If you use RP/RPLite and Internet Explorer ( ouch.gif ) in Windows 98 SE, you may have noticed that back-forward and other buttons in disabled state are looking like trash, while in Windows Explorer they are gray and semi-transparent.

Use attached IEXPLORE.EXE to fix that behavior.

RPLite 5 Add/Remove applet replacement pre-beta
http://tihiy.ahanix.org/ARPprebeta.zip

There was a TON of changes since public Alpha 4 build, with help of Petr, noticeably:
- Correct national charset support (that bug presents in RPLite everywhere)
- Correct translation support
- Design fixes
- 9x updates detection
- Better icon detection
- Much better icon detection for Microsoft Installer products
- Perfomance improvements
- 98 without RPLite support

- "Remove" functionality with CLEANUP functionality
- Global Cleanup for Microsoft Installer products using MsiZap.exe from Windows Installer Clean-up download, included (removes all registry info, directories, running processes and such)
- Common Registry Cleanup
- Directory Cleanup (moves to Recycle Bin !)
- "Change" functionality

So uninstall technology is virtually complete, now i'll add extended Install functionality and some bonuses.
Waiting for feedback

Edit: slightly fixed version; screenshot added

Hi Tihiy, really improved version, still there are some cases when the right icon is not displayed. I know that it is not your fault but maybe you can do something with it.

ATI Display driver - uninstaller string is "rundll32 C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\atiiiexx.dll,_InfEngUnInstallINFFile_RunDLL@16 -force_restart -flags:0x2010001 -inf_class:DISPLAY -clean" but unfortunately this file does not contain the right icon. The right icon is in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\ATIPTAXX.EXE file, icon 102.

Intel Application Accelerator - the uninstall icon is displayed.
TargetDir="C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel Application Accelerator" and "C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel Application Accelerator\intelata.exe" contains the right icon.

HDTach - it has exactly the same uninstall icon as IAA, proably from RunDll32 C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\INSTAL~1\ENGINE\6\INTEL3~1\Ctor.dll,LaunchSetup "C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{DC47022F-8FD7-411C-878F-3EAEFCFED480}\SETUP.EXE" -L0x9
The right is in "C:\Program Files\Simpli Software\HD Tach\hdtach.exe"

Microsoft IntelliPoint 4.1 - "C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Installer\{1FD0C5C1-B01B-4B4C-9607-E5D3B3D1318F}\IntelliPoint.exe" contains two icons (0 and 14), you use icon 0, but the right icon is 14.

Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Professional - you display MS Access icon from "C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Installer\{00010405-78E1-11D2-B60F-006097C998E7}\accicons.exe" but icon 7 in "C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Installer\{00010405-78E1-11D2-B60F-006097C998E7}\misc.exe" (misc.exe,6) would be the right one.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{00010405-78E1-11D2-B60F-006097C998E7}
DisplayVersion="9.00.9327"
Version=0x900246f (246f = 9327)
VersionMajor=9
VersionMinor=0
But you display version 9.0 only.

Mozilla 1.7.12 and Seamonkey display just some general icon, the right icons are in
C:\Program Files\mozilla.org\SeaMonkey\SeaMonkey.exe icon number 0
C:\Program Files\mozilla.org\Mozilla\Mozilla.exe icon number 0
Unfortunately registry contains just uninstall string
C:\WINDOWS\SeaMonkeyUninstall.exe /ua "1.0.1 (en)"
C:\WINDOWS\MozillaUninstall.exe /ua "1.7.12 (en)"

Belarc Advisor
C:\PROGRA~1\Belarc\Advisor\System\NPBelv32.dll icon number 0
UninstallString is:
C:\PROGRA~1\BELARC\ADVISOR\Uninstall.exe C:\PROGRA~1\BELARC\ADVISOR\INSTALL.LOG

Power Chute 5.02 has just trash bin icon, the UninstallString is
C:\WINDOWS\Uninst.exe -f"C:\Pwrchute\DeIsL1.isu" -c"C:\Pwrchute\uninst.dll"
and the right icon is in C:\PWRCHUTE\PWRCHUTE.EXE

TweakUI has no icon, the right is here: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\TWEAKUI.CPL
Maybe the installation INF that is part of the unofficial servicepacks could be modified to put into the registry the right inforrmation?

Arabic, Chinese, Hebrew, Japenese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese language support have no icon.

This is just for your information, I have no idea how to find the rule where the right icon is, maybe the list of exceptions... but still...

If you need any file or link to the installation package please let me know.

Anyway, very nice work.

Tomorrow I will test some uninstallation too.

hello, i'm newbie, but i test RPL 4.

I think that Revolution Pack is pack of toys. I like ALT+CTRL+DEL tool, but other elements are not needed.
For example shutdown effect. why ? I don't like it, you could add option to off it.

but i have some own idea : change Start Button to flat button and destroy traybar border.

I think that RP is on good way to be interesting win98 update pack, but true revolution could be a SVG or png icons on desktop or new window's titlebar style.

good luck.

personly i found it easier to edit user.exe rather than using hook99, also it has something to do with the fact i dont like having lots of apps i dont really need. but this is just my opinion and you can do what you want.

It's explorer.exe... I've already edited mine to have a flat start button.

Currently working on making *all* the buttons flat... but edited user32.dll is a bit unstable.

Thanks for your permission to use hook99. laugh.gif

Personally I NEED to run a lot of backround apps as I find Windows virtually unusable without them. I exagerate a bit saying this, of course. But just only a bit.

Here is what I run all the time as background tasks :

hook99 to hide the start button (Keyboard Winkey remains active), make the background of desktop icons text transparent, flatten system tray area, show only icons of tasks in the taskbar.

CoolMouse96 to launch some often used programs with the middle mouse button.

Taskbar Activate to effectively entirely hide autohidden toolbars.

Stroke-It to use gestures in all my application to save, close, undo etc... + other gestures to do stuff with the desktop windows and back/forward in IE and Windows explorer and launch programs from anywhere.

Freeshade to shade my windows when double clicking on their title bars instead of maximising them.

Dialog Box Assistant to have a per application MRU and favorites list for files and folders in the open/save dialogs.

Click-Off as a customizable IE popup blocker and annoying dialog boxes clicker.

Popup Icons Ex who lets me double right click anywhere to quick browse my drives.

Ram Idle as a RAM Manager.

Of course I also have a firewall and antivirus always on.

Not speaking about the around 15 or 20 shell extensions I have installed.

All this uses up around 1% of my Athlon XP 2600 CPU with no visible performance or stability penalty.
