I just tested the applet, and had to do some modifications to the translation in order to fit the provided space (sorry for being that late ). Modified strings are in the attached file (look for OLD >>> and NEW >>> line prefixes).

While testing i also found some issues in with the applet:
After installing and uninstalling ArchMark and SpeedFan the applet says that the applications list hasn't changed, which is not true. Some delay and flushing the cache might help on this.

Rollback restores the whole registry, which might have unpleasant effects. Try restoring only the changed/added/deleted registry keys.


I dropped a shortcut instead of an exe (i'm lazy, i know ) and the applet failed to start it. After dropping the actual executable, the applet recorded some changes to the system and enabled the rollback function. Restoring the whole registry just to undo a simple launch of Notepad, WTF?

EDIT: Found a bug: when you are waiting to download something, and then the window pops up asking you what to do with the download (ala open, save, cancel, etc.), neither the save or the open buttons work. You click them, and nothing happens.

On actual RPLITE, isn't there Extended Application Compatibility?

My experiences with latest RPLite 6+ on VMWare:

- LameSKIN engine not automaticly configured. I hope you can fix this. I have to switch theme manually to Vista to make changes happen.
- Unicows.dll is reported as installed. I only added a copy of it to the RPLite folder. However installing RPLite gives problem copying some ME-files. I had to install unicows.dll to the Windows\System directory.
- Locking the taskbar / Unlocking is very buggy. It doesn't work most of the times.
- Not everything is localized in my language. Stuff missing is text for Lock / Unlock taskbar, Explorer descriptions for Network Locations, Trash bin.
- System information panel is displayed as "SysProps.Shellfolder"
- Software Install panel is great, except for the Restore functionality. It might be better to remove it now, and add it back in when you can actually revert application changes, rather then restoring the whole registry.
- Moving the new CTRL-ALT-DEL window does not update the display, so many windows are displayed. Please fix this, or make Window Unmovable.
- Bootlogo is ugly with the new bold Windows 98 letters. Could you please change it back to the Revolutions Pack 6 one?

Conclusion, great software, but not RELEASE worthy yet. You should put the BETA flag back to it

During taskbar skinning, i've discovered new minor LameSkin bug:
Taskbar buttons may not switch to newly created window.
You can reproduce this issue by pressing Ctrl-E many times.

Edit: fixed internally; that's weird 9x user bug.
Fixed LameSkin is going to be available in next RPLite version.

There is one critical LameSkin bug was found by Ambassador:
You can't download files with Internet Explorer.

I hope no RPLite6 users are using Internet Explorer (especially without download manager) so this bug is not that critical.
Anyway, it requires additional attention and should be fixed soon, even if i'll have to delay next RPLite version.

There are many problems arise if i'm to implement Vista orb:
- it must be bigger than taskbar - how?
- it must be translucent - how?
- it is different for top, bottom and side taskbar positions.
However, i hope i can solve this problems.

i applied you registry fix for mycomputer icon first but i had to edit it because it was using regedit 5 instead of 4 is there any reson why it was in regedit5

Rplite ver 5 and 6 have a problem:
In Windows Explorer, when right click on to unknown file type (e.g: *.1st, *.log, ..etc) the context menu appear, choose “Open with”, it ‘s not work or halt.
Please help me to resolve this problem!

That's Windows ME shell issue, i can't fix it.
It is extremely rare... Try to uninstall programs and shell extensions you're not using.
