How would I edit explorer to use less ram?

Uhm... Possibly smaller dialog boxes, less graphics... thats all I can think of

edit explorer to make it less ram consuming maybe sound crazy cause even M$ can't did it the better way is only use alternate shell that use less ram, for me i ussualy use Aston (www.astonshell.com)cause it can run even on i486dx pc with only 8mb ram
