Klite packs supports
-makeunattended
switch to made a custom installer.
There is a section with file type assoc. for Media Player Classic or Windows Media Player. Check or uncheck
what you want and build the installer.

@curiousboy - Check out Shark007's Vista Codec Pack.

i didn't meant to.

i just stated the people can use a silent switch if they want to. Besides, not everyone knows about silent switches.

We have to wait until shark007 makes an updated installer for the new version.

Shark good job man!!! But a question, i realize and see that this installer not install the shockwave properly on my winxp copy...ie7 doesn't recognize it..

Put this on my cmd file:

ECHO.
ECHO [SHOCKWAVE]
ECHO wait...
start /wait %systemdrive%\install\swInstaller.exe
ECHO done!

it's ok like this?

it seems I screwed up the latest release. I accidently monitored an upgrade install when creating the current release so I've taken it offline until I am able to upload a new file. new files uploaded to the MAIN repository only. it is also SVCPACK compatible now.

In my signature are 2 repository URL's.

I've only uploaded the corrected files to the MAIN repository. The MIRROR does not have the updated files yet.

To those that don't already know, I use dialup, connect @ 2.6kps, and it is extremely slow...
for instance, a 1MB file is a 15min file transfer experience...

Nothing wrong there. If you unpack the .exe you will find a dll file inside.
Thanks Shark for the updated files.

Shockwave Player 10.3.0.24 is now availlable for download on Adobe's site.
Can you make a new pack with this installer?

The Adobe Shockwave Player v10.3.0.24 from the Adobe web site does NOT install under Windows 2000. I get "procedure [GetSystemWow64DirectoryA] not found in kernel32.dll file" error message during install, then quits. Adobe's installer is flawed, bigtime. why it doesn't work is beyond me. But I've tested it in Win98, WinME, WinXP and WinVista and found no problems with the install. I'm sending my complaints to Adobe about their shockwave player 10.3.0.24 not installing under Win2k ASAP. mad.gif

Check out the Shockwave System Requirements page:
http://www.adobe.com/products/shockwavepla...nfo/systemreqs/
It mentions Win98, WinXP, Win2003, Vista but not Win2000.

I'll try Shark's shockwave installer under Win2k, if I can find it.
erpdude8
Ok. here was the error message I got when attempting to install Adobe Shockwave v10.3.0.24 player on Windows 2000 from the Adobe web site:

and the rest of the installation is stopped. pitiful, isn't it?

But using Shark's version of the Adobe Shockwave 10.3.024 MSI installer from his web site worked perfectly under Win2k.
Big kudos to Shark007 for making an MSI package that works, unlike what Adobe did.
ckislam
I don't want to download the final switchless package.

Can any body tell me the switches or commands to be used in a batch file (NO AutoIT) to get Shockwave installed without Toolbar. It doesn't matter if there is a silent command to uninstall the Toolbar afterwards. I think closing the browser after the installation can be easily done by taskkill.exe or process.exe.

It would be nice if someone can post a sample of the batch file.

Thanks

how come you don't want it?

i remember i installed the normal setup using /Silent and it didn't install the toolbar.

Updated to version 11 - MSI for corporate use is also avaialable.

The mozilla plugins are made available (via the systems registry) as required and do not need to be separately installed as they were in the past.

If I install ShockWave Player before Opera or Firefox those registry will be written?

It doesnt matter if you install the mozilla browser before or after using my shockwave installer, the plugins will be available to the browser without being installed separately. I only tested this with Firefox. If Opera needs it installed to its plugin dir, let me know and I will make a switchless installer available for opera's plugin.

Its a basic MSI accepting all msi switches.
_______________________________________________

Once again I have the need to remind people that all the provided installers found on my repository intended audience is those seeking to re-authoring thier personal installation media (msfn users). With this in mind, my installers do not deal with existing system scenario's such as upgrades etc.

To directly answer the PM query;
FOR DESKTOP INSTALLATIONS PLEASE USE THE MANUFACTURERS INSTALLER

If you're using this installer on an in use desktop system be sure you have uninstalled previous versions and deleted/removed np32dsw.dll from the mozilla browsers' \plugins folder.
elajua
thank for the answer shark. good work.

Is there a way to get this to work on Windows 2000? your 10.3.0.24 installer worked but the shockwave 11 doesn't.

The MSI didn't work either.

I get the same error: "Shockwave Error: $1,
One or more Shockwave files are missing."

my best guess for your error

at a bare minimum, windows installer 2.1 is required.
update windows installer (from microsoft, free), try again.

Thanks.

When I install Shockwave, using your installer, I get this:

C:\Program Files\My Company Name\My Product Name\msvcp71.dll

Is it normal for this file to be created? I had not noticed it before, but my memory could be bad on this. Should I leave it alone or can it be deleted?

Thanks for your continued work on these products. I appreciate a lot.

Thank you for the information. it shouldnt be there and the folder(s) and file can be deleted.
The installer should be checking for an existing version in system32 and installing that file if none exists.

I'll post here again once I have uploaded an updated version.

Hello, Im new on the forum, i just download the msi file and i have a problem with "Adobe Shockwave Player.msi" (date 21.06.2008). I have clean install of XP Pro with integrated SP3, IE7, WMP11 and DirectX 9c (Jun 2008) Made by nLite 1.4.6. All of integrated parts are working fine, but after install Shockwave 11 form msi package, when i open IE7 on pages, where is Shockwave used, the IE7 close the window with those page. The Firefox 2.0.0.15 open that page, but in the place where shoudlbe a Shockwave object, is only empty space.

After install orginal package (11.0r458) from Adobe WEB page it open all pages corectly.

for test i use for example this url Adobe Player Test page

I was thinking what can i do with this and i resolve my problem by making a batchfile to install Shockwave:

CODE
@ECHO OFF
TITLE Adobe Shockwave Player 11.0.0.458 (Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firfox)
ECHO Instalation in prograss... Please do not close this window.

content for path: "system32/adobe" i get from my C:\windows\system32\adobe\*.* (with all subfolders tree) - after installing orginal shockwave 11 form adobe web page ofcoz.

content for Mozilla folder i take form my C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins\ and contains there 2 files:

"ShockwavePlugin.class" and "np32dsw.dll"

content of path system32 requied 4 files: msvcp71.dll, msvcr71.dll, msvcrt.dll, and
CMDOW.exe (hide window tool, antivirus software may detect a risk tool - because hi can hide a windows)

all files i put into one directory for example D:\asw11\ , create SFX RAR archive and done - an exe with Shockwave 11.0r458 instaler without any toolbars. If we dont wont cmd window with install progress, add after @echo off one line contains "system32\cmdow.exe @ HID" and done. No window are displayed when install is in progress.

DLLs for register - i check all content of adobe folder (inside system32) and all DLLs i try to register with REGSVR32.exe, the .exe files witch is runing i take from install.log of orginal Adobe Shockwave 11 installer.

all nesesery content we can also take form orginal installer from adobe - and decompress using command line with /X switch - it is build with WISE Installer.

After all that things, when clean install of XP SP3 is completed, and run my asw11.exe (the SFX archive i made contains unattended install of Adobe Shockwave Player 11.0r458) when i open IE7 or Mozilla web pages, the shockwave objects are displayed propertly. smile.gif

if somebody wants ready to use *.exe installer, please write to me, also i can upload it somewhere - i dont like sites like rapidshare, and i dont have any acounts in there.

for acrobat reader I modify an existing msi installer as documented by the crude tutorial I posted.

I create this installer using installshield repackager. Each release is a new creation.
The above is 90% of the tutorial. the last 10% is experience.

For deploying Shockwave Player Adobe also provides an msi for corporations. You can apply for a distribution license, but you can also use the following link for the latest version. Currently the link downloads the latest 11.0.0.465 version:

http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/shock...l_installer.msi
Inferi0r
Wow thank Acheron for that link, I didn't find it. Do you know of there is also a slim msi version?
