Okay here's the problems:

First off all the major problem is my comp went dead after a powerfailure, wouldnt boot and couldn't install XP from my Windows XP Pro Sp2, it said "The file hpt3xx.sys could not be found. Press any key to reboot". If anyone know what the file does and how it's fixed, plz tell me. I've installed Windows numerous times from that cd, but now... *sigh*
My plan concerning this was to make an up-to-date slipstreamed cd using XPCreate, just to check if that'd do the trick. I have tried everthing else and unfortunatly it's my only SATA comp, the others are all IDE sad.gif

So I DL'ed the software and the updates starting to go through the instructions in the site, but the XPCreate folder wasn't containing the XPCREATE.INI, so i created my own with all the options listed in the XPCREATE.INI section. So now it's looking like this:

CDBURNER=E:
CDERASE=NO
CDLABEL=XPCREATE
CDSPEED=MAX
CDTYPE=CD
COPYSOURCE=YES
DELISOS=NO
DELROOT=NO
DELTEMP=NO
DOCABS=YES
DOCD=YES
DOISO=YES
DOPATH=YES
DOSATA=YES
DOSVCPACK=YES
DRIVEDIR=$OEM$\$1\DRIVERS
DVDPLUS=NO
EXITQUIET=NO
OVERWRITEOEM=YES
RENAMEF=YES
SILENTINSTALL=YES
SLIPHF1=YES
SLIPHF2=YES
SLIPMDC=YES
SLIPSPK=YES
USERFILECD=XPUpdates\
USERWINLANG=ENG
XPISO=XPCREATE.ISO
XPSOURCE=D:
DODLF=YES
DLURL=http://xpcreate.com/members/HFLISTS
HTTPUN=
HTTPPW=
WGHLPARM=-O XPCTDOWN.TMP -a XPCREATE.LOG -T 60 -nv
WGHFPARM=-O XPCTDOWN.TMP -a XPCREATE.LOG -T 60 -nv
BOOTIMGFILE=BOOT\XPCTBOOT.BIN

Then I put the updates in their respective folders and started XPCREATE.CMD. The only error i got was a "SPACKS\UPDATE\UPDATE.EXE could not be found." so i just pressed OK (because I don't have the file, don't know what it's used for) and went on. Now I've got the .ISO file which is to be burning to a cd, but although i put my blank cd in when i started the merging, nothing has been written to it. I've made XP cd's before, but that was through Nero Burning ROM, and that was one heck of a battle, so I thought it'd be easier with CDBURN.EXE, although I don't know how.

So first problem is I need to burn a bootable cd from my .ISO file, but how is this done?

Thx in advance
Baltazhar

Ps: If my comp gets up and running, I'm gonna marry every single one of u guys in here! tongue.gif

EDIT: And why can't I UL an avatar? It's 4kb and 80x80.

EDIT 2: Perhaps i should post some pr0n pics and include the words "HOT BABES f***ING LIKE CRAZED ANIMALS!!" in the title, guess the marriage promise wasn't as popular as first presumed biggrin.gif

Okay I've been looking at about a gazillion forums and found out that the hpt3xx.sys is HighPoint Tech drivers for ATA RAID and non-RAID drives, it just seems odd that this is the first time that the comp complains about the missing, when previous installation has gone smoothly.

Well, I'd still like any advise you might give me, atm I'm trying to slipstream the ATA drivers into an XP cd, although it's probably beyond my comprehension >.<
But I will never give up, I know the answer is out there somewhere just waiting for me to discover it... although it could have made itself a bit easier to find no.gif

Post if you think something might have the slightest importance or if you need some specifics concerning my specs etc to help me.

Thx in advance

Perhaps if you posted a pic, we might be interested in marriage. whistling.gif

I recently had the same problem with my install. I ended up modifying the txtsetup.sif with (at the end of the file):

[SourceDisksFiles]
IASTOR.SYS = 1,,,,,,_X,4,1

[HardwareIdsDatabase]
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_24DF&CC_0104 = "IASTOR"
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2652&CC_0104 = "IASTOR"
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_27C3&CC_0104 = "IASTOR"

[SCSI.load]
IASTOR = IASTOR.SYS,4

[SCSI]
IASTOR = "Intel® Matrix Storage Manager Driver"

And modified the winnt.sif with:

\$OEM$\$1\DRIVERS\RAID\INTEL with driver files under this folder.

[Data]
AutoPartition=0
MsDosInitiated="0"
UnattendedInstall="Yes"

[Unattended]
UnattendMode=ProvideDefault
OemPreinstall=Yes
OemSkipEula=Yes
NoWaitAfterTextMode=1
NoWaitAfterGUIMode=1
WaitForReboot=”No”
TargetPath=\WINDOWS
OemPnPDriversPath="DRIVERS\RAID\INTEL"
DriverSigningPolicy=Ignore

[GuiUnattended]
OEMSkipWelcome = 1

[UserData]
ProductKey=xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx
FullName="Yours here"
OrgName="Yours here"

I hope this helps.

There is another forum here at MSFN connected to a project that
- has a SATA "add your driver" tutorial (but bartorob gives you the gist of what you need)
- slipstreams windows hotfixes in a simpler way
Out of respect for the fact that this forum is devoted to a competing product I won't name this other project in the text of this post.

Use Nero to burn your ISO to a CD. Nero has a time trial if ya don't want to buy.

BTW everyone here has access to hot babes. You just have to sign up for the MSFN Platinum Membership. tongue.gif

Hi Baltazhar,

I see you’ve put the default for CDBURNER=E: can we assume this is correct for you PC ?
If it is then it possible the ISO image you’re trying to burn is larger than the CD you’re burning it to, unlike Nero XPcrerate won’t give you a specific error message telling you this…. of course you can burn the ISO using Nero.

The reason for the other error is this:
SLIPSPK=YES
If you’re not adding any SP’s then this should be NO.

I’ve slipstreamed SATA drivers but I didn’t do anything else because my ISO would have been too big.

On the general theme whenever I’ve had problems like that ‘unexplained error messages’ epecially after a failure of some kind, I just format the HD & do a clean install.

Actually, you main problem is this:

QUOTE
USERFILECD=XPUpdates\

The updates/hotfixes need to be placed in the directories you have to create inside the XPCREATE root folder.

The USERFILECD will just put whatever is in that folder onto the root of the CD when making the CDROOT - such as winnt.sif.

You need to make the following list of directories in the xpcreate root folder, outlined @ http://xpcreate.com/directories.htm

Also, see my post http://www.msfn.org/board/forums.html#entry466404 [but bear in mind it is primed for using driverpacks in that particular example].
