I have problem.It occur Cannot open file "E:\program files\Virtual Tek nLite\Add-On Maker\files.7z". system cann't find the folder When i make addon in the finally stage.

I have solve this problems when I use xp64 OS. I don't know why i cann't use this machine successfully in 32 bit OS.

finally i found "files.7z"and replace the path that program needs and i make the file read only from now there is no problem

Hallo guys, could someone of you help me??? i Know nLite addon maker firts since 3 days, but i have made some nice packs for me. but i have two problems:

1. i cant create packs of .msi installer, what i make worng? i make the same things like with nsis installers. i select the installer and than i write name.msi /qn an it doesnt work. During windows insattling there comes only a window which says me the installer version.

2. I want to integreat nlite addon maker, but after installing this pack the tool starts and i must choose languag. i dont want that. how can i make that correct?

I've been working a lot thats why i didn't como here.

i just started to use NLAOM and am now coming up against some problems myself.

first of all it will not make an addon properly for any .msi programs.

second, there are several programs which despite following all of the instructions I have been able to find everywhere online for silent installs for the installers that the programs use it still refuses to install silently.
I am finding that I have to actually click on butons to make the programs install which obviously defeats the purpose of creating the silent installers in the first place.
I have used utilities that tell me what type of installers the programs use and what switches to use use to create them and despite doing this it is not working.

The programs I am having trouble with are as follows:

alcohol 120% - which nlaom actually already has in its internal database.
avira antivirus - RAR SFX installer
dreamweaver MX - which nlaom has in its database.
Trillian Auto Backup - NSIS installer
Total Commander - Inno Installer

there are some more but these are .msi installers and I don't know whats going on with them.
any ideas anyone.

If anyone would like to actually be able to download and look at these addons to see if they can diagnose or fix the problem send me a message and I will provide you with download access.

any help would be much appreciated. I am going insane trying to figure this out and I really would like to be able to have my complete XP cd running as soon as possible...

Is it necessary to include a switch for the creation of an addon, or is it only if you wish to specify certain installation instructions e.g. language, cdkey

Do the simple instructions at the top of the page work for the creation of all application addons even large programs like a Norton product or Microsoft Office 2003.

How would I add the installation key to an addon application, is it as simple as specifying it in a switch.

Does compression level make a difference to the size of the CAB file at the end, ive tried using ultra compression level and it actualy comes out as 3.94MB where as with no compression it comes out as 3.83, the program I was making in to an addon was the .EXE of Limewire Pro 4.10.

i'we made atiny xp about 150mb ,i'm trying to integrate office2003 71mb in this. so farr i'we unpacked it(the office2003 ) with universal extractor and i wanna make a addon of office2003.what is the instalation file(smth like install.cmd??? and what is the silent comand to do this , or how would i integrate office in xp?

I dunno if this is an old bug, but if you start up "nLite Add-On Maker" (im using the 1.2.4 version) and just hit "Make file" without setting anything up, a messagebox shows up with the error; "..List index out of bounds (0)..". Not like its urgent or anything, but you might want to clear that uhm.. "bug" .

Other than that, i like the application. Keep it up

Everytime I try to create an addon I select the folder,compression level,I put the command for the silent installation (as an example " /VERYSILENT " then I click to create the file and I choose the name as example "nerolite".But then the I have an addon of 600mb.Why??

Create a new folder and put NeroLite in that folder... Now try, you see nlaom compresses all the files that are in the same folder as nerolite, by creating a new folder and putting only your desired program in it you can avoid this

Well Sorry but nlaom cant do what you want to accomplish...
If you want maybe i can take a look at the exe file you want to make inta a addon, just tell me where you want it in "All Programs", "Desktop" and/or "Quicklaunch" maybe i can make you a addon and you can just edit it in the future to create one of your own. So send me a link and ill see what i can cook up.

I have been using your program to create addons successfully. Very easy to use. I am wondering whether it can make addons of inf files created by reg2inf converter. I am totally new in this area; I mean the inf file has no switches, exe or cmd files. Can it be done? How?

No you cant make inf addons with nlaom... You can learn by simply downloading other inf addons and studying the structure layout... Here are some Tutorials that might help 1, 2, 3

IMO you should start with a theme inf addon there easy, its how I learned

If so its NOT always Needed, u can leave it out see if it breaks your installer

/SP- Disables the This will install... Do you wish to continue? prompt at the beginning of Setup.

as ricktendo said it's not always needed unless a certain Inno installer brings up that nag at the start of the setup.
