Maybe already reported, but if not, here goes. I recently installed ‘A-Squared Free 3.5’. First scan, it detected: Trojan-SpyWin32.Banker.mjh in nlite addon maker 1.2.4. I uninstalled, got a fresh copy of the exe from here: http://virtualltek.mgbr.net/inicial.php?page=index , reran ‘A-Squared’, same result. I instead installed the ‘new’ beta of nlite addon maker, and A-Squared did not have a problem with it. Unfortunately, today I had to make a cab for ‘SuperAntiSpyware’ where you have to use the “msi” and the ‘beta’ nlite addon maker would not let me make a cab. That is to say, it would “not” let me click in the area where you put in your silent switch. So, I went back to the ‘old’ nlite addon maker, and made my cab. Since I had gone to the virtuall tek site to get the ‘old’ “maker”, I decided to run A-Squared again, same result, it said I had a ‘Trojan’. I, of course, uninstalled it. I realize this could be a false positive, but A-Squared did rate it a ‘high risk’ and anyway, I thought you might want to know.
Thanks for the “GREAT” program,
Eddie

ohmy.gif I was unable to find a link to contact the administrator of the VirtualTek site to apprise them of the Add-on maker being infected with PSW.Banker4ADQM Trojan Horse. Hopefully they will put up a clean download soon.
DMD61
Even I had the same report with a squared-free 3.5 and I tried to write on the form of VirtualTek. http://virtualltek.mgbr.net/inicial.php?page=contact
Now the only way to use it is to disconnect from the Internet use AddOn Maker and then uninstall it.
This until it is resolved the problem of Trojan Win32.Banker.mjh

Came up as a virus?
boooggy

hi {_carnificina_}! has there been an update to your app (because it still shows the same 1 in the 1st page)? which was is the latest? thank you!

huh.gif Been having the same problem with the Addon maker across two different platforms now. [XP and W2K3] Every time I make an addon the program spits roughly a 200 MB file. Is there a certain compression program that this is only compatible with because I have used 7zip and WinRAR? I thought I could download and use the program without a hitch.. well getting some of the switches can be cumbersome.

Hey, 1st time poster here welcome.gif
I've been playing with Nlite since yesterday and I gotta say I'm a noob, but I'm learning fast biggrin.gif. One thing is bothering me right now... what kind of switches should I use for integrating IE7 and DirectX 9? Anyone has answer to that? I've integrated most of useful programs into my upcoming "XP Ultimate" biggrin.gif, but I can't find a way to integrate IE7 and Dx9 ;/ easily. I know there are some ways to squeeze IE7 into XP install, but it's total black magic to me (yet) wacko.gif.
kooler
you can intergrate ie7 with nlite as a hot fix.. but you cant remove anything before you intergrate

as for the dx9 .. get the new updated june dx9 file and unpack it with winrar or 7 zip and use this switch in the nlite addon ...DXSETUP.exe /Silent

but you should always check the nlite section of this forum.. alot of great info in there too..
koldj
Yeah, that's what I've been doing using Nlite Add-On Maker (unpack, add switch, pack .cab), but can't find the right switch for IE7. Is there a different method for it?
DMD61
Another problem with Addon Maker.

Now Avast professional 4.8, after upgrading, I indicates the presence of a virus (Trojan-gen) in the download section.
Precisely this is the file 7zS.sfx

May be what you are getting is a False Positive.

To be sure just scan the file here http://www.virustotal.com/ . It uses 32 different Antivirus Engines to scan the file.

This program contains malware!

I can't run it on my computer sad.gif

What about a new version of this utility?

Why can't the developers of nLite provide this utility on their wesite?
boooggy
because this utility is not made by nlite developers.....
prebenandre
But why does it include malware?
boooggy
as i posted in a previous post ...i scaned it with nod and symantecc corporate av and there is no malware.
but if u find it u should report it to the creator of this tool.
toja92
Thanks will definitively try it. Seems an very easy way to integrate programs. Oh, if you want to find out the switches, open cmd(start -> run -> write cmd) and then "cd" (ex cd foldername to go to folder foldername and cd .. Is to go to previous folder) to the folder with the installer, and then, try "installername.exe /?" sometimes you get a popup with all cmd switces.

Just FYI, I scanned this file and came up with some virus hits.

Added image.

Thats because it is not only a compilied auto-it file but it also was compressed by UPX!!! mad.gif

There is no virus... The virus hits that you get are all false positives... It in clean, and I am using the program right now... This is much easier than manually making 7-zip sfx installers....

Could someone please fix this problem? A virus warning, false or not, is unacceptable. I'd really like to use this software but won't do so until AVG stops telling me there's a trojan inside.

Tell AVG about the issue... The author of the software can't do much about the false positives.

There are no Virus.
Please use a better Anti Virus Program with a better Scanengine, like Avast Home Edition, it`s Free for Homeuser. thumbup.gif
I believe, the Programer of this Tool will not sent you a virus. yes.gif

update version 2.0 ( in testing )

Hi,
I've downloaded the nlite-addon from your virtualtek website, but the version in "about" is 1.2.4 from 6/17/2006. It doesn't show
v2.0 or v2.0 beta. Please post the beta in addition to this other version. Moreover, the info on your site says "xp add-on". Won't
this work on Win 2K Pro or Vista?

Here's some more info concerning the virus detected.
AVG 8.0.169 detects a trojan horse PSW.Banker4.ADQM on the copy from your website for v1.2.4. 2006. If one scans the file nothing
is found. If one installs the file, and run the 'Launch', AVG reports a tmp file with this trojan is found.

If one downloads the rar file from rapidshare v1.3.7 2007 and unrar it, followed by ,install and launching the application, AVG reports
no trojan. Thus, the one on your site may have a trojan.

See this link for other reasons. http://www.autoitscript.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=34658

Now for problems.

a). Why are you using for the language file extension "itc" and not "lng" or "lang"? itc seems to be an itunes extension.
b ). The Arabic, and chinese characters probably weren't saved as 'unicode' or 'utf-8' by the authors when they used notepad.
Note: I'm using win2k pro sp4 and the help files say that to display these characters its best to use "San-serif" which they are, so
saving in unicode may be the problem as to why they are displayed an unreadable (unrecognizable) characters.
c). For the Bulgarian file, if one uses notepad, the bulgarian characters showup, but when running v1.3.7 2007 they are displayed
as ????? marks.
d). The English file is out of date in terms of the defined menu entries (not the translated words) vs. the spanish one before the equals "=" sign.
e). The itc file has a menu entry called "Author=". However, everyone who is translating into their language is entering
their name since they translated the file, but really this entry is to translate the word "Author" into their language instead of entering
their name. Thus, when the program is run their name is displayed and not the translated word for Author. Hence, when one uses
the tool to create a s/w package, the person who did it should enter their name in the field under the word Author (which is in their language).
Provide another itc file entry for Lang_Translate= or something which allows one to enter a name or email that will be displayed under
the "About" tab screen. Put the version number of your tool here too instead of on the "genrl" tab which should be spelled as "general".
e). Alot of the tabs and some screens are still in spanish although one translated the itc file completely. The reason is because the its file
needs to be updated to include these other fields along with their translations so that the tabs and some screens will show the correct info.
f). Prefer that there is a tab called 'language' or 'options' so that one can select the language one wants to use. Presently, it is under
'About' and when one hits 'ok' it doesn't remember ones settting. Thus, if you exit and later on come back and use the tool again,
it doesn't use the language you selected previously.

Can you list which Antivir and version number you used to do the test?
At least if people post what antivir programs detect (maybe false) virus' vs
nothing one can narrow down the problem or list of antivir software that gives
misleading info.

See DMD61 on Jul 2,2008 which stated that Avast Pro was detecting a virus.

I've already listed the link for why this may occur. whistling.gif

I ran nlaom-setup.exe at www.virustotal.com which used 36 AV engines. It came up positive on 2/36 engines. A lot of the AV engines were updated and had fewer FP hits than a few months ago.

results here:

I still believe it is a false positive and will continue to use this great addon maker.

I couldn't download it anywhere to tell you.

You may find the silent switches yourself by Start/Run/Filename.xxx /? or /h or download CMENU 2.6.0.88 (Context Menu Enhancement) which can identify a lot of installers with a right click and give you the switches.

VirusTotal.com (MD5 link, check hash first, more and likely it's already been uploaded) is a great site. I'm using Avira AntiVir free edition. I was using Avast 4.8 Home free edition but gave to many false positives. Before that AVG 7.5 free.

Basically people, if VirusTotal shows that Kaspersky and Nod32v2 (new v3, when does v2 support end?) don't show any problems then it is safe. Period: Case Closed. However this may change in 6 months or a year if they start slipping, or if Nod32v3 isn't as good as v2.
