Thanx.
MAVERICKS CHOICE
7.0 is out? thought still in beta?

Cheers

KenanBalamir
Yes, it is.. Not beta..

See link :

1. unpack the powerdvdtrial.exe
2.add the powerdvd.sim file from the install directory to the folder where you extracted the files
3. edit the cutom ini attached to this post by adding your serial instead of the ***
4. run it through nlite addon maker to make the cab

if you dont download the custom ini attached and want to do it yourself you need to add silent=1 at the beginning
and remove web url =http://activation.gocyberlink.com/english/activation/active.jsp
and just leave web url = (removing the web url address stops the registering your email address screen coming up)

Just to complete yr procedure although yr custom.ini is correct, you did'nt mention to add
CODE
silent=1

GoRo
blink.gif Do you need to put "silent=1" in your custom.ini?

Can you also you also use the WinRar method, if you can, can somebody please me a guide.

Thanx.
teapleasebob
i already added it to the custom ini attached just forgot to put it in the steps you could do it using the winrar method but it would just take u longer

what'st he NLITE addon maker?! I am dying to learn it!!! Sorry for the basic question, just haven't heard of it.
teapleasebob
n lite addon maker
redfive19
thanks!
GoRo
The NLite maker, does it use the Runonceex method or a diffrent one. Because I use the runonceex method for my other programs. I got it working with the Winrar method.
MAVERICKS CHOICE
Haven't tried yet but does seven have the same nag screens following installation as six does? Is it just a matter of using the same cleanup script for the olrsubmission.exe as for six?
Sorry for all the q's but I don't have the latest prog yet, just curious.

Cheers

MC.
teapleasebob
nothing comes up after you install it but when you run it the screen asking for your email address does pop up
MAVERICKS CHOICE
That be it.

im just testing this now but it seems to work in the custom ini you have a line
web url=http://activation.gocyberlink.com/english/activation/active.jsp?
well i deleted the web url and just left web url=
and it doesnt seem to come up biggrin.gif

ok i opened and closed power dvd about 20 times and it hasnt come up so i have replaced the custom ini on my first post to include this biggrin.gif
GoRo
Ok, If you put in a serial number does it need online activation? huh.gif
teapleasebob
no its not a online activation its just a register for updates but it shouldnt come up if you use the custom ini attached to my first post
GoRo
Ok, I have read in other forums that Powerdvd 7 when you put in the serial it keeps on telling you that it is still a trail, I want to buy the package but if there is still bugs I will rather wait till a later version or fix has been released. unsure.gif
teapleasebob
i dont know where you are reading this but they are wrong my clarly states it is power dvd deluxe and if you click on activate it tells you that you are running power dvd deluxe but you can add another serial as they have addon packs biggrin.gif
GoRo
thumbup.gif Ok thanx, it makes more sense now, thanx for all your help teapleasebob.
fanatf1
Hmmm....

I remove url to activation, but then i open\close PDVD7 5-10 time the register popup window appear sad.gif

Strange
teapleasebob
that is strange did you use the custom ini on my post and just add your serial as i still havent had the window appear

I have an older computer and DirectX 9.0 won't install on it. I used this method on PowerDVD 4.0 and it also worked fine. PowerDVD 5.0 seems to be the last version that doesn't require DirectX 9.0. But on PowerDVD 5.0, during the installation, it has a pop box that just says something about a couple new features. One is about viewing itin a zoom type fashion to fill the screen and the other is something about stretching the picture a certain way. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone knows how to skip past this? I would assume it would be a line that goes in the custom.ini file. I compared the custom.ini file posted earlier in this topic to my registry entries. They matched up perfectly.

Any ideas or can I not stop the pop box.
teapleasebob
i take it you added the silent=1 i will download power dvd 5 and see how it differs
sleepydvdr
Yes, silent=1 is the first thing under [PowerDVD].
teapleasebob
is this what your powerdvd custom ini looked like
[PowerDVD]
Vender=CYBERLINK
DSAuRen=1
RCDRule=1
UIUseHVA=0
XResume=1
CHK_STCBYPTS=1
UIMediaDiscPlay=1
PseudoStop=3
AU_REMOVE_IFCAPS=1
UIClrCtrl_CurSel=2
VCD_Track=1
VCD_Segment=3
VCD_ErrSkip=200
NoMonSleep=1
OffMenuShadow=1
SetL21Rect=1
OLREG=0
Deluxe=1
as i just downloaded 5 and that what it looks like
and the web url doesnt exist in it
but there is a text document called ipower with a web url in it maybe you need to edit that instead
sleepydvdr
I have now tried your suggested Custom.ini. It didn't help. I even merged it with the original one posted near the beginning of this thread. Still keep getting the pop box. And I downloaded PowerDVD 5 from other sources, hoping to get a different build in which the pop box doesn't exist. No such luck. I don't think there is any way to get rid of it. It isn't a box asking a question. It is just box letting you know about a copule new features. I screen captured the box, in case anyone is interested:

Thanks, teapleasebob, for your suggestions. It gave me a something to do, trying to figure it out for a little while. I guess I can live with PowerDVD 4.0. It's not bad at all, anyways. Heck, I've been known to watch DVDs through DVD Shrink (right click preview screen and go to full screen).

Thanks again for the suggestions...

Is there a certain setting in the ini file we would add so we could activate one of the other addon packs using a serial.
teapleasebob
if you have powerdvd installed and one of the addon packs check the reg thats how i found the other one biggrin.gif

yeh i checked power dvd 5 and it seemed to be one build and a lot of patches so it would be a pain in the arse to do
cyberloner
extract the powerdvd registry at local machine / current user
patch the reg ....
del this
RD /s /q "%ProgramFiles%\\CyberLink\\PowerDVD\\OLRSubmission" >nul
RD /s /q "%ProgramFiles%\\CyberLink\\PowerDVD\\Trial" >nul

it won't popup
tjhart85
excellent. thanks for the info on this
TRuLLi
about the activation link that should be removed, i used "noRunReg=1" in custom.ini for version 6.0 and it worked properly.

Cyberlink has released a new version (Build) 7.0.1815 of PowerDVD. I have tried all the previous methods of silently installing this with the serial included but have nto had much success. I have spent a whole day trying to figure it out and have tried any and all ideas that I could come up with, but no success. Anyhow I was hoping someone here might be able to help with this. I would like to be able to enter the 'Deluxe - serial', the 'Advance Sound Pack - serial' and the 'Interactual - serial' during the install itself.

Thanks for any ideas.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cyberlink\PowerDVD\BuildInfo]

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cyberlink\PowerDVD\Color_Control]

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cyberlink\PowerDVD\UserReg]

If your answer is yes. i am afraid i cant help you...

Well I have exported and them all but used only [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cyberlink\PowerDVD], since that is where all the registration information seemed to be listed.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks again for your reply but I don't see my key in the 'UserReg'.
The following are the contents of the exported 'UserReg' portion.
CODE
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CyberLink\PowerDVD\UserReg]
"SR_No"="DVD060620-08"
"Prod_Name"="PowerDVD"
"Prod_Ver"="7.0"
"CustomerNO"="2581"
"Hardware"=""
"Channel"="iSales"
"RegVType"="Trial (with Dolby)"

Anyhow, I will try this also and see.

kk, I did the following:
I installed the application then I registered it manually, then I browesed to the TWO keys you mentioned and exported the entire key, so now I have TWO registery fle
Now I opened a blank document and named t powerdvd.reg
I copied all entries from both TWO files and paste it in the file,
there were some entries has NO values under it, so I removed it
but NOTHING CHANGED blushing.gif no.gif
