Spybot - Search & Destroy v1.6.0.30 [Released: July 08, 2008]
Spybot Search and Destroy searches your hard drive for so-called spy- or adbots; that is, little modules that are responsible for the ads many programs display. Many of these modules also transmit information, including your surfing behavior on the Internet. If it finds such modules, it can remove them. In most cases the host still runs fine after removing the spyware/adware.
Another feature is the removal of usage tracks, which makes it more complicated for unknown spybots to transmit useful data. The list of last visited websites, opened files, started programs, cookies, all that and more can be cleaned. Supported are the three major browsers Internet Explorer, Netscape Communicator, and Opera.

Spybot - Search & Destroy v1.5.2 Final/Release
Spybot - Search & Destroy detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by common anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven't intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been "hijacked" (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. Even if you don't see the symptoms, your computer may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging. Spybot-S&D is free, so there's no harm giving it a try to see if something has invaded your computer.

- Vista Security Center integration from BETA v1.5 - Spybot-S&D can now easily integrate into the Vista Security Center; which will then monitor if Spybot-S&D is up-to-date and whether the permanent protection (TeaTimer) is running or not. In your 1.4 Releases, how did you integrate the updates?
Make a silent installation package which installs Spybot - Search & Destroy, afterwhich it executes the latest includes-file.
CODE
spybotsd_includes.exe /S

Out of curiosity, were you planning on doing another customized version of 1.5.2? If not that's okay -- I really appreciate all of the packs you've done for spybot!

Can we, anyhow, make this addon to "not" to install or activate the "tea timer"? It's a pain in the a**, everytime i install this, i remember why i removed it from my previous windows (:

nomadturk, which addon are you talking about ? in the customized addon, teatimer is not activated by default but is included in the installation since some people might be using it. you don't have to use or activate it if you don't like it (I don't like it either)
if you mean the stock addon, i'll take a look at it over the weekend

Well,
I don't know whose addon i have. Since there're no such entries in the ini section nor in the name. And since i already have 1.5.2 and didn't download yours, how the heck can i know if this is yours or not?

well you should at least the description or try it out before asking for a feature that happens to be already built in
anyways, forget about that. give either of the addons a try - whichever you prefer - stock or customized and you won't see teatimer unless you load it up yourself

In your addon, how do you make it 'auto-immunize' etc? I have my own addon and just wish to add this feature in. Thank you.

when using the switchless installlers, either full or customized, in unattended Windows setup
the following problem came up:
=============================
Error
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
The existing file is marked as read-only.
=============================
The source has been slipstreamed by HFSLIP.
The problem existed in both nLited and non-nLited source.
Is it a problem in the source XP CD
johndoe74

do you have an existing read-only hosts file in your source ? cuz the addon installs spybot's hosts file and marks it read only. i had deliberately chosen NOT to delete an existing read-only hosts file when making the addon because of the possibility that some people might have their own hosts files that they would prefer to keep.
on the other hand, if a hosts file exists that is NOT read-only, it will be overwritten by spybot's hosts file.
i use hfslip extensively myself and this is not hfslip related
