Hi,
Does your release contain awxDTools? If no, can you integrate it? THX for your addon.

why Nlite asked me to activate the Unattended options, I'm already having a mofified winnt.sif and don't use the Unattended Section of Nlite (otherwise it will mess up with my predefined winnt.sif)
so I said no and contine to integrate your addon, is that ok
and thanx for removing the adware
but if you don't mind, make the DT Silent Switchelss Installer to be run from WPI, while the SPDT via Nlite
you sure asking what's the deal? the deal sometimes I want to install Dt on another PC via WPI only, so Addon can't be useful

unattended mode is
required for this addon to work

can you make awxDTools to register extensions when it's installed ? i tested it and i have to manually run "Re-Register extensions" in the start menu so i get the right click mounting options on image files
thanks

the problem u guys were facing with this addon, as I've recently discovered, is not awxdtools related but rather daemon tools related. the reason that error was showing up was that this addon requires daemon tools to be installed and in that, secure mode to be switched off. now since there's no unattended way to switch off secure mode once daemon tools has been installed (e.g., like via the registry) and it has to be manually switched off by the user to enable the installation of this addon, we face the problem that you guys have now become familiar with

Ok so i put this to add-ons with n-lite but it doesn't work. I can't think of anything to have gone wrong. It's a one-step process o-O. Weird.
No errors or anything, but its as if i never added it.

When i use the add-on on nLite, a new .exe file appears in the I386\SVCPACK. Its the .exe that can be found on the .cab file. Where does the .inf file go?

just add the .cab to the
"Hotfixes, Addons and Update Packs" section of NLite. the rest is automatic, you don't have to worry about which .exe or which .inf file goes where. you
do need to have unattended setup enabled for this addon to work

Call me ignorant but I can't read through all this thread... I know DT is a pain with SPTD and all so...
1 - Does this addon install SPTD at the 12 minute stage and DT at first logon?
2 - What about the "adware" thats included in the normal DT? Is that all included?

sptd is installed via svcpack (T-13), daemon tools itself via guirunonce (first logon) and the spyware is deleted on daemoon tools installation

Hi johndoe74
can you please explain how did you get rid of the browser window in your custom DT package? I have an AutoIt script to install Daemon Tools, and haven't figured out a way to block the official installer from opening the browser window.
Thanks in advance!

then your script needs an extra line at the end
CODE
ProcessClose ("iexplore.exe")

I tried WinClose, but didn't work all the times in the virtual machine. A race condition, IMHO, opening iexplore could take a while, and the script would try to close a window that has not been opened yet. ProcessClose should work

THanks!

Uhm processclose does not work if the browser is not Internet Explorer. Silent mode installation should NOT open browser windows...
EDIT: I managed to solve it in AutoIt, if anyone is interested, see

Hmm, i don't know why but whatever i do, i can't make this addon work.
I mean i add it via RyanVM along with 85 other addons but neither this, nor paint.net is installed during the installation.
Anyone having such problems?
johndoe74
Jan 14 2008, 08:28 AM
you should use nlite not ryanvm to integrate this addon
nomadturk
Jan 16 2008, 01:26 AM
Should i? Ahh, my bad. But how do i know that which addon is for nLite and which is for RyanVM? Can you enlighten me? Because all those CPL addons i've tried to integrate doesn't work too. I assume they too muyst be added via nLite.
johndoe74
Jan 16 2008, 10:07 AM
well why not install everything with nlite ? it does actually support most everything you could think to throw at it
nomadturk
Jan 17 2008, 02:35 AM
I.. don't know if there's any difference between using RyanVM or nLite for integrating this addons.
So far, there're things RyanVM could not add such as most of CPL extensions i've tried and some other stuff.
I think this last time, when i've added DaemonTools with nLite it was going to work if only i hadn't reset the Virtual Machine. But still, i can't install Paint.Net and i don't get it that why can't i...
Anyway, i can be considered a newbie at this process. I think it's truly natural for me to encounter such problems and also considering i still do not know what software is better for what and how to build my own custom packages other than replacing the contents of cab files...
Yeah, nLite forever baby!
I don't see no reason to use RyanVM anymore.

Feb 16 2008, 03:36 PM
those retarded people that develop this program have replaced the previous bit of spyware/malware/crapware with yet another bit of spyware/malware/crapware in v4.12.1.
not only that, now the installer doesn't accept the silent switch that used to work previously (a language selection dialog pops up), on top of which the program tries to load up a browser windows once installation is complete for whatever retarded reason, all of which makes this program highly addon unfriendly and a complete and total waste of my time. i'm halting work on this addon for now.
