I tried install ar812lite_FR.exe (in ar812lite_FR.7z) but :


In C:\DOCUME~1\ADMIN\LOCALS~1\TEMP\7ZS19F.tmp\ :
Folders : Common, CommonAppData, program files, Windows
Files : ar.msi (3.5 Mo), msistub.exe (2.50 ko)

That error is by design.
You need to uninstall your current version OR If already uninstalled,
extract the files from the ar812lite_FR.exe and rename ar.msi to adbeRdr812_fr_FR.msi

I renamed the installer's MSI so my release's are unique and don't conflict with with the original Adobe releases.
An original Adobe release can upgrade my release whereas my release is prohibited from upgrading an Adobe release.
A clean install is required.

BOTTOM LINE - I DID NOT CREATE THESE RELEASES FOR DESKTOP INSTALLATIONS
They were created specifically for msfn users who are re-authoring windows installation media.

thanks for this, I used the divshare link, rapidshare has to be the worst place for file hosting I have come across.

I didn't notice this until today: I used you english version uncompressed. But i just reformatted my laptop and when making some changes to my vistaUA DVD, i used the silent exe you are distributing. At the end of the installation i got a message that prompt me about rebooting. Is this normal?

With the uncompressed files i didn't got it.

Just a guess, is it possible some other installation prior to this, installed older versions of the runtime libraries?
specifically, Microsoft.VC80.CRT version=8.0.50727.163 which installs the files, msvcm80.dll - msvcp80.dll - msvcr80.dll

A quick resolve would be to move this installer sooner than others.

Well, as it was my laptop, there were lots of applications. It would be impossible to determine which installed (maybe) some runtime libraries but i was thinking about moving it to the top of the list, right after cummulative updates.

Will move it now and when i use my personal vistaUA DVD again, i will let you know.

but for a desktop installation...

Shark recommends that if you are using a Lite version, ignore the update.

The Lite versions that I release are not vunerable to this exploit.
The plugin affected was removed during the Lite'ing process.

I have prepared version 9.0 in 4 languages (thats all that was available at the time I visited Adobe)
English, German, French, Japanese

As usual, I use dialup, it will take some time to get them uploaded.
MajorGeeks will have the English version tomorrow morning (12-14hrs after this post)
I will try to get MajorGeeks to carry the German version also.

All other versions will be on the rapidshare server IF that avenue is still available to me ( i think it is)

I would appreciate ANY msfn user that frequents these forums to contact me by PM to receive a download URL
for the 9.0 German Lite version and is willing to subsequently upload it to rapidshare for me.

dialup sucks by with your help I can get the german version out today too.

The French and Japanese versions will have to wait until I can upload them to my private server

Which build did you use? The standard http download listed at 34mb?

I notice in the adobe ftp that there are two builds, one 34mb and other listed at 25mb. Maybe the latter don't includes Acrobat.com support and therefore is more "lite" than the standard download.

The file I used as a basis for creating the English Lite version was originally named AdbeRdr90_en_US_Std.exe
it was 25.1MB and had an MD5 of e714ec99dad64310176a5278189f8dc0

NOTE: I use FTP for file transfers whenever possible because dialup sucks and FTP often resumes

Figured this one out. Copied the SendMail api from another Adobe reader 9 full installation, into the plugin folder. This now works.
Is it ok to do this way ?

Now need one more. the Form filling option. ( copying the FormApi does not work ) Any suggestions ?

If the Lite version is missing features you require, use the FULL version from Adobe.
